Chapter 28 - Showcase Scare

                                    

                                          
As soon as you and Hiro walked in the garage, you saw Honey, Gogo, Fred, Wasabi and Tadashi waiting for you in front of the cans of Microbots.
                          
"What are you guys doing here?" You asked with a puzzled look. "Well, we were came to help bring the bots to the showcase but Tadashi told us that you were out on a date with your boyfriend." Gogo said in a teasing tone of voice, which made you and Hiro blush while sharing a look of embarrassment. There was an awkward silence that fell upon you all, Hiro twiddled with his thumbs and you rubbed the back of your neck.
                          
 "Let's go!" Fred rushed and got behind one of the bins to push it out the door. Cass was already outside and had the car started up, ready to go. Once everyone had a can, you all pushed it to SFIT, it took longer than usual because Fred had to have three pee breaks at different gas stations on the way there.
                          
As soon as you got on school grounds, you had a cringing feeling in your stomach like something bad was going to happen. You had learned over the years to let you senses tell you if something was wrong, and your instincts were telling you to turn around and go home. Of course you ignores this, what were you supposed to say?
                          
'Hey Hiro, I have a feeling that something is wrong with no actual evidence other than this feeling. I know this is one of the most important days of your life and all but I'm going to have to take you back home, better luck next year kiddo!'
                          
Of course you wouldn't say that! 'This is ridiculous, just focus on Hiro and his presentation', you told yourself and shook your head a little as you thought. It was more noticeable than you thought because Hiro glanced at you a few times from the corner of his eye with a look of worry on his face. It wasn't the showcase that was bothering him, it was your expression. You were looking around as if you were waiting for something to happen, you were also staring at the ground occasionally looking up to see if you were about to hit someone. You all walked inside the building, where the showcase was being held you all saw a lot of amazing technology but not as good as Hiro's Microbots, that's for sure.
                          
"Wow, a lot of sweet tech here today. How you feelin'?" Tadashi asked and nudged Hiro's shoulder.
                          
"You're talking to an ex-bot fighter, it takes a lot more than this to rattle me."
                          
Tadashi rolled his eyes and readjusted his hat quickly and continued to push the bin full of Microbots. "Yup. He's nervous." You observe.
                          
"Oh!" Honey said, "You have nothing to fear, little fellow." Fred reassured him. "He's so tense!" Honey continued.
                          
"No I'm not!" Hiro defended and this time you rolled your (E/C) eyes, you had known Hiro for months and you know what freaks him out and what doesn't.
                          
"Relax Hiro! Your tech is amazing! Tell em' Gogo!" Honey replied kindly.
                          
"Stop whining, woman up." Gogo stated and you glanced behind your shoulder to see her expression. A bored one with her eyes half closed, like always as she chewed her bubble gum. "I'm fine!" Hiro said, trying to convince everyone that he was even though he so obviously wasn't.
                          
"What do ya' need little man? Deodorant? Breath mint? Fresh pair of underpants?" Wasabi questioned, "Underpants? You need serious help." Gogo answered. "Hey, I come prepared." Wasabi replied.
                          
"I haven't done laundry in six months. One pair lasts me four days! I go front, I go back, I go inside-out. Then I go front and back." Fred shared. Wasabi gaged, Honey and Gogo looked grossed out while you and Tadashi looked impressed.
                          
"Wow. That is both disgusting and awesome." Tadashi stated and you nodded in agreement. "Don't encourage him." Gogo warned. "It's called, recycling." Fred 'corrected' her. Then a voice came in over the intercom,
                          
"Next presenter, Hiro Hamada."
                          
Fred chuckled, "Oh yeah, this is it!"
                          
"I guess I'm up." Hiro said while Honey tapped on her phone in a rush.
                          
"Okay, okay, photo, photo! Everybody say 'Hiro'!" She said excitedly and pulled you all in a selfie. "Hiro!" Everyone said as she snapped the picture on her touch screen. "Yeah!" Fred yelled. "We love you Hiro! Good luck!" Honey squealed. "Don't mess it up." Gogo said bitterly. "Science, yeah!" Fred yelled again and everyone left to the audience except for you, Hiro and Tadashi.
                          
"All right, bro. This is it." Tadashi said and held his arm out for a fist bump but Hiro just stood there and stared in front of him. "Come on. Don't leave me hanging! What's going on?" He asked and Hiro continued to stare in front of him. you then walked around where Tadashi was standing to get a glance at Hiro. He was clearly nervous, despite his earlier attempts to say otherwise. "I really want to go here." He said and looked up at you and Tadashi.
                          
"Hey, you got this." Tadashi said and put a hand on Hiro's shoulder, sinking down to eye level. Hiro gave a nod and went up on stage. Tadashi and you stood there in the moment of glory then went to going the others in the crowd. "You think he'll be okay?" You asked and Tadashi smiled. "I know he will." He said and at that moment, you knew Tadashi was right.
                          
Author's Note: SCIENCE! YEAH! I had to use the subtitles on my DVD for this chapter, LOL! I am such a nerd...and guys I am SOOOOOO sorry for not updating! I finally convinced my Aunt Terra (Luke and I live with her) to get internet and she spent two hours screaming at them over the phone so I am sorry for her inevitable stupidity. It took a half hour but we finally got this crap up and running! YUSH! I bet you thought this would be the part with the fire, didn't ya? DIDN'T YA?!?! I barely slept at all last night so I am VERY jittery and since I am SUPER tired I will cut this Author's Note short for once. With all of my craziness aside, how do you like this chapter?
