Still in his sweaty clothes from today's soccer practice, Donghyuck was laying face-down on the couch with his face buried into a cushion. For a brief moment, the other person in the living room, who had watched Donghyuck waltz in and plop onto the couch without a single word, began to doubt he was actually breathing.

Renjun stared at his friend with worried eyes. Being worried about Donghyuck as a friend was one thing, but he also personally didn't want to be a suspect in a tragic murder.

"What's this fool doing here?" Jaemin mumbled as he stepped out of the bathroom, drying his hair with a towel. He approached Donghyuck and poked him in the butt with his foot several times before the latter finally responded with a whine.

"I don't want to go home," Donghyuck reluctantly sat up, only doing so because Jaemin threatened to sit on his back if he didn't move. "That witch is moving in today."

Renjun made a face. "It's unfair for you to call her that just because she's grouchy, likes cats, wears black a lot and was a witch for the Halloween party two years ago...Actually, yeah, that is a pretty fitting nickname for Jiseol."

Donghyuck rolled his eyes at the unintentional reminder of how Renjun and Jiseol were good friends. Much to his chagrin, Jiseol had unknowingly befriended his three best friends (the two roommates, plus Jeno who wasn't around since he lived with his family) during freshman orientation and he wouldn't deny that he was awfully bitter that his friends were all buddied up with the one girl with whom he could never get along. It didn't help that they couldn't see just how cruel Jiseol was towards him; to them, she could do no wrong and they even blamed him for being the insufferable one.

Although it was true and he recognized and took pride in being insufferable, Donghyuck was still jealous that his best friends would always take Jiseol's side over his.
Also the way they would be so friendly with her, and she'd be smiling at them with that sickeningly sweet smile that she had never given him. Like, what, was she trying to steal them from him or something?

"We did tell you to move in with us." Jaemin shrugged.

"There are two rooms and neither of you would want to share your room with me."

"That's why we said you could floorsurf. Tonight you sleep on Jaemin's floor, then the next night you preferably still sleep on Jaemin's floor—"

"I wish Jeno had his own place," Donghyuck sighed. "He'd take me in, he loves me."

"Are you sure you want to live with Jeno?"

Donghyuck's mind recounted memories from the past years of being friends with Jeno and exactly how many times the ER was visited throughout said friendship. Most times it was just sprained wrists and broken teeth from their constant playfighting, but there had been more tragic incidents, like the time Donghyuck tried to prank Jeno only to get his nose broken instead. Simply put, them being friends the way they were was a hazard on its own—living together? Probably not the best idea.
