Hearing that Henry was still with my grandparents when I thought he was with my dad and his new family made me so angry. They had already discarded us and since Henry was my mom's son, they left him with my grandparents so they could start a family on their own. I wondered who's idea that was. My mom was hurt hearing this too. My mom's brother; Nathaniel and his wife; Cheryl were so mad at this. I was so sure my dad could've lived somewhere else with his new woman but he chose this place to spite my mom.

"You're just going to let this go?" Mrs. Cheryl asked.

"I'm not interested." My mom said and sipped on her wine.

"This may not be the right time to say this but I always thought you and Asher were the perfect match." She said and my mom glared at her. "I mean come on Thora. Let's be real here. Chris will always be Chris. I thought he changed after high school but that man still has that function in him. He's always breaking your heart and you're always going back to him."

"He is my husband Cheryl. That's exactly what I was supposed to do."

"When is he bringing his lawyer over? If you guys are done, you should finalize things quickly. Don't drag it." Mr. Nathaniel said. "And I'm serious about that." He made it very clear to her.

"I don't even have the strength to drag this anymore Nat. I'm drained." She sighed. "What's keeping Mia? She should be home by now." Mia was their daughter and I supposed she was in college now or maybe not.

"Don't even get me started." Mrs. Cheryl said with a sigh.

"She's never home." Mia's dad said. They had a bad girl too? That was great. The doorbell rung and I stood up to check on who was at the door. I opened the door and this handsome man from yesterday was here and he was in smiles as usual.

"Hi." I said to him and let him inside. "I'll be upstairs." I said to my mom and headed for the stairs.

I looked back at my mom and she and this man were hugging. She found comfort in him and that was all that mattered. My dad had already moved on. I got myself into my mom's old room and the place was clean and beautiful, just as I remembered it to be. I opened the window to let air into the room. I could see the window to my dad's bedroom open. I stayed by the window for minutes, thinking of how they must have been in their youthful days when they were full of love.

Those thoughts faded when I saw my dad walk into the room. I hid away from the window and sneaked on him. Aiden's mom walked in as well and she got closer to him. He let her put her arms on his shoulders and she said something which made him smile. He said something back to her and she laughed. She kissed him first and my dad held her closely and kissed her back.

"Ava I want us..." the door opened and my mom stopped by the door watching them kiss. I gulped and she walked closer to the window. They broke off their kiss and my dad could see us watching them. My mom closed the window and turned to me with a smile. "Men are trash. You should know that." She said to me and walked out of the room. I sat down on the bed and ran my fingers through my hair. I didn't want to hate my dad and Aiden but I was starting to. How could they leave us?
