Stefan stares at Malia and he sighs. He has been feeding from her for a while now to build up his strength and his control. She walks over to the kitchen, Stefan follows begins the girl in a white dress, brown ankle boots and a denim jacket, and she grabs a knife. She pokes her skin.
"Luckily for us, Katherine isn't stupid enough to think we're a couple," Malia says.
Stefan grabs the denim jacket Mali is wearing and he pulls her closer and he takes her hand softly. He needs her eyes as he holds her finger up to his lips and he begins to take in her blood. As soon as his lips touches her finger, an involuntary shiver runs through her veins as the two keep their green eyes locked.
"We'll find a way to handle Katherine, Malia," Stefan says as he keeps her hand in his, holding it. "I promise you that."
"I know," Malia replies.
Stefan sighs as they continue looking each other in the eye and he pulls her into a hug. Malia sighs and she relaxes into Stefan's arms, her head laying on his shoulder. Stefan's hugs always seem to make her feel safe. He gives such safe hugs.
"We have to go," Malia mumbles. "We're on decoration duty at the Lockwood's. Masquerade Ball."
"Go on," Stefan says as they pull apart. "I'll meet you. Okay?"
"Okay," Malia replies. "See you there." ~||||~||||~||||~||||~||||~
Stefan and Malia are talking lightly at a table at the Lockwood's, sorting through masks. Mason enters and he seems surprised to see Stefan. He walks over with a box in his arms.
"Hey, Stefan," Mason greets him cautiously.
"Hey, Mason," Stefan greets him in return.
Mason places the box on the table, stunned. "Wasn't expecting you here. Or anywhere."
"Yeah, I had this little accident," Stefan claims. "But I'm fine now."
Mason tried to expose Damon and Stefan yesterday at the volunteer picnic for the new public park. Liz shot them and Caroline exposed herself to help save them. Liz is now at the boarding house. Damon is making sure the vervain leaves her system so he can compel her to forget.
Mason is openly talking about this in front of Malia because she was with Caroline and Elena, looking for Damon and Stefan.
"What did you do to sheriff Forbes?" Mason asks accusingly.
"Oh, she's fine, too," Stefan informs him, "but from now on, you'll have to do your own dirty work."
"Not a problem," Mason replies and walks away.
Stefan sees Bonnie zone out as Mason accidentally touches her as they bump into one another. He squeezes Malia's arm before he goes to see what's wrong with Bonnie. Malia watches them quietly before she goes off somewhere to help with some decorations or tables somewhere else. ~||||~||||~||||~||||~||||~
"There's my favorite strawberry blonde from the Donovan family," Damon comments as he walks over to where she is, she is making a table loom prettier. "Where's Stefan?"
"He was talking to Bonnie a few minutes ago," Malia replies. "I think she saw something when she bumped into Mason earlier. He's around here somewhere."
"Thanks, Lia," Damon says and he walks away.
Malia sighs and she focuses back on the task at hand. Making the table presentable for Carol Lockwood. ~||||~||||~||||~||||~||||~
Stefan and Malia walk through the woods and they walk up to a well. Stefan tried to convince Mali not to come but she's more stubborn than Elena. That's one of the things he likes about her. Bonnie believes that the moonstone Mason and Katherine are after is in this well.
Stefan pulls the rusted lock off of the iron grating and he removes the grating off of the top of the well. He grabs the flashlight from Malia and he turns it on. He and Mali look into the well. The vampire lets out a sigh before glancing at the girl beside him and he hands her the flashlight. He climbs but no to the well before taking it back.
"Be careful."
"I'll only be down there for a minute," Stefan reassured her and he hunks down.
"MALIA!!!!" Stefan shouts out in pain as he feels the vervain water burning his skin.
"Stefan!?" Malia yells in surprise.
"MALIA!!!!" Stefan wails again.
"Stefan, what's going on!?" Malia panics as she looks down the well, trying to get a visual. "What's going on down there!? Stefan!"
"Malia!" Caroline exclaims as she suddenly appears in vampire speed.
"Caroline!" Malia gasps in relief. "Stefan's down there and the chain is rusted. The well is filled with vervain. Caroline, we have to get him out!"
While Caroline pulls at the rusty chain, Malia removed her jacket and she climbs onto the edge of the well just like Stefan did. Caroline helps wrap the chain around her.
"I got you, okay?" Caroline says as Bonnie and Elena come running over.
"What's going on?" Bonnie asks. "You took off in a blur."
"I heard Malia screaming," Caroline says. "Help her, now!"
Bonnie and Elena hurry over and grab one arm each to help lower Malia into the well. Caroline helps her get down as soon as she's ready. There is a little bit of struggle but as soon as she's in the water, she removes the chain from herself and she puts it around Stefan and tells Caroline to pull the burned vampire up.
Malia begins looking around for the moonstone with the flashlight in her mouth. She feels something touch her and she sees a snake.
"AAAH!" She screams and she throws the snake away but more come. "Pull me up! Snakes! Pull me up, pull me up! AAAH!" She has the box carrying the moonstone in her hands as Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena pull her up. She shoves the box in Elena's hands, removes the chain, and hurried to Stefan.
She grabs a nearby rock without thinking and she cuts into her wrist. Caroline quickly looks away and Mali shoved her bloody wrist into Stefan's mouth. His eyes open as he grabs her arm, and he drinks her blood. ~||||~||||~||||~||||~||||~
Stefan lays in Malia's bed as she dries her hair with an air dryer in the bathroom. She said he could sleep over so she knows that he's okay. He truly scared the living daylights out of her and he didn't even mean to.
Stefan pulls Malia into his embrace and he thinks about Jenna. She stabbed herself because of Katherine's compulsion earlier because Damon bragged to her about killing Mason. Stefan and Malia snuggle that night, thinking of the possibilities to come in their future.
