Which shouldn't really be making my face hot at the moment but it just did.

Two, I don't have anything whatsoever!

No meetings!

Not even a plan to be alone with him!

And now this!

What's up with this guy!?!

What is he suddenly on about!?!

"Silly boy! Why would you be shy to tell us that, Kao!?!"

I stopped lowkey glaring at Pete and blinked at my mother in law.

"I Uhm, uh, well, mommy, ahh-."

I bit on my lower lip not sure what to answer when Pete casually butted in.

"You organized this trip for his birthday and he suddenly becomes unavailable. You can't blame him if he feels that way mom."

I smiled at my mother in law gingerly who smiled fondly at me.

"Oh, Kao, honey, you don't have to feel that way. This trip might be all for you but you can't just halt your plans just because of us. Go along you two, there's no problem really. We're going this evening anyway, so it's all good. Your mama and I will have to enjoy spa without you then."

I blinked at her nodding at me and my mother who smiled and seconded.

"Right. I'm also in the academe, I know the drills."

I swallowed dryly at what my mother said.

Could I be anymore guilty for lying to them!?!

"Great! So it's settled then?"

Pete said cheerily I almost wanted to kick him.

How come he never told me about this!?!

And what if this for, really!?!

"Where will you guys be staying?"

My mother asked me.

"I-."

As much as I didn't want to interact with Pete as much as possible, I couldn't help but turned to him who seemed to always have an answer.

"I had my room ready for us, mama, I hope you don't mind. We'll just come by later in the evening and then maybe stay with you guys the next time we come back."

Pete smiled at my mother sweetly and as if on cue, my mother smiled back.

"Oh, okay. Sure. Guess I really have to make myself get used to the fact that my son would be my neighbor now."

My mother said casually.

"Oh! What are you saying!?! You can always come by the house anytime you want."

My mother in law consoled her.

"What time will you be two leaving?"

Mommy Veron asked right after.

"Right after this, if it's okay."

Both mothers nodded.

"Oh, it's fine, your mama and I are planning to go to the shell museum anyway."

Pete smiled at the mothers before he suggestively looked at me.

"Great!"

Well, for me, not really.

About half an hour after, after we called our fathers and to inform them about us going home ahead, Pete and I were walking towards his car as we get ready to go back to their place.
