A few days after the announcement, you are sitting by the lake with Luna, Ginny and Hermione
You: So... Hermione have you got a date for the ball yet?
Hermione shifts slightly uncomfortably in her place
Ginny: Ooo 'mione, you're blushing
Hermione: No I'm not
Luna: Yes, you are. Who is it?
Hermione: No one
You: Come on 'mione, this is the most interesting thing that happened this week
Ginny and Luna look at you, the same questioning expression on their faces
You: Fine, the most interesting thing that happened this week for me
Hermione: Wow, that's a slight bit concerning
You: I've been dealing with my mother, I haven't had much time for anything else
Ginny: Hermione please tell us
Hermione: Ok fine, but promise not to judge me
Luna: Of course
Ginny: Yeah, of course we won't
You: Well I can't promise that, but sure
Hermione: It's- Victor
Ginny: Victor as in Victor Krum!?
You: That's not what I was expecting at all
Luna: Why, who did you think she'd go with?
You: I don't know, I was kind of thinking she'd be with Ron
Ginny: Ron and Hermione? I can not imagine that
Hermione: I can't either. Anyway, Ginny I heard Neville asked you
Ginny starts to smile, her cheeks turning red
You: Looks like someone has a crush
Ginny: Maybe...
Luna: Ooo
Hermione: I can't wait for the Yule ball now, I couldn't wait anyway but now I really can't wait
Luna: You, make me wish I was going now
You: Well why don't you?
Luna: I'm not in your year so I can't go unless I'm someone's date
You: Well then, we can go together. Luna Lovegood will you be my date to the yule ball?
Luna: Of course I will Y/N
You all burst out laughing
Ginny: We should buy our dresses together next Hogmeade trip
Hermione: That's a great idea
Luna: Ooo yes, we should
You: I can't wait to go the yule ball with you guys, it'll be the best day ever!
