"are you sure you want to do this?" 
                          
corbyn was eyeing both of his sisters cautiously, as if he was waiting for them to either spontaneously change their mind or combust. 
                          
brown hair dye was mixed into two separate bowls, one for each of them, on the bathroom sink and the two blonde sisters stood in front of the mirror. 
                          
"absolutely positive" kassidy nodded. she needed a change, something she hadn't done before, and when ashley admitted that she did too, the two of them had come up with the idea of dying their hair brown. 
                          
they'd somehow managed to sucker corbyn into it, bribing him to tag along for the adventure. he wasn't exactly against it, more so just confused, and a little concerned, about why his sisters were suddenly looking for some big change in their lives. 
                          
"did you tell jc about this?" ashley questioned her sister as she put on plastic gloves. 
                          
kassidy shook her head, "no... why? should i have?" 
                          
ashley contemplated it for a second before shaking her head, "nah. leave it to be a surprise" 
                          
"are you guys okay? are you like... going through something?" corbyn looked between the two of them suspiciously. his sisters had been blonde for as long as he could remember, it was their signature look, so them dying it brown was a big deal... at least to him. 
                          
the youngest of the bunch rolled her eyes, "we're fine, just needed to spice things up a bit, you know?" 
                          
"we're not going through anything," kassidy reassured him. 
                          
he sighed, putting on his own pair of gloves, "let's just do the damn thing" 
                          
"let's do it."

she tiptoed into jc's room, her hoodie up over her head to keep her new hair hidden for as long as she could. 
                          
he was sat in front of his computer and she could only assume that he was streaming, and by the looks of his tense posture and the dim lighting, she'd quickly been able to come to the conclusion that he was streaming a horror game. 
                          
perfect. 
                          
when she was close enough to be in view of the viewers, she held her finger to her lips, silently asking them not to give away her presence. 
                          
she smirked before throwing her arms around jc, yelling out 'boo' and bursting into laughter at the way he flung himself out of her grasp and out of his chair. 
                          
"what the fuck?!" 
                          
"it's just me!" she giggled
                          
"you scared the shit out of me!" he gasped dramatically, holding his hand over his heart to emphasize his point. 
                          
she rolled her eyes at him, "well i mean, that was kind of the point" 
                          
his arms were around her and she was being thrown over his shoulder before she even had time to blink. she kicked her feet widely, giggling as he spun the two of them around, her hood falling off in the process. 
                          
"justin!" she laughed, "put me down!"
                          
"you think you're so funny, huh?" he mocked, dodging kicks from her feet. he held her up there for a few more seconds, just to tease her a little bit, before carefully placing her back on the ground. when she was level with him, he gently brushed a strand of her now brown hair behind her ear, "what's all this?" 
                          
she glanced at the streaming set up, noticing how the two of them were in complete view of everyone watching. she brushed it off - if he didn't care, neither did she. 
                          
"needed a change" she mumbled, "you like it?" 
                          
"you look fucking amazing" 
                          
okay, so maybe she cared a little.. 
                          
her face turned bright red and she hid her face in his shoulder, "stopp" she whined, embarrassed by the fact thousands of people were watching their interaction. 
                          
"i'll never stop complimenting you, baby" 
                          
she rolled her eyes, pulling away from him and nudging him back in the direction of his chair, "go away, you have people to entertain" 
                          
he huffed, plopping down in his chair and pulling her down with him, "entertain them with me" 
                          
"only because i have nothing better to do" she teased, "what are we playing?" 
                          
"friday the 13th.."

turns out kassidy was not a fan of friday the 13th.
                          
she'd sucked it up though, because the way jc would giggle every time something caused her to jump made her heart race and truthfully, she'd do anything to keep that smile on his face. 
                          
thankfully, the game, along with the stream, had been turned off not too long ago and now the two of them laid in his bed tangled with one another. her head laid on his chest as his hand played with her hair. kassidy swore she'd never felt this at peace before. 
                          
"baby?" 
                          
she hummed in response, her eyes closed in relaxation. 
                          
"brown hair looks really fucking good on you." 
                          
she glanced up at him before laying her head back down on his chest, "you said that already." 
                          
"just reminding you" 
                          
she didn't respond, too focused and way to relaxed at the feeling of his hands running through her hair. 
                          
"babe?" 
                          
she sighed, "yes, my love?" 
                          
"what do you want for valentines day?" 
                          
"a dog."
                          
 now of course she was joking. never in a million years did she ever think jc would actually get her that, but it was the first answer to come to mind and she was way too sleepy to think of a realistic one. 
                          
he hummed, going silent for a moment. his hand traveled down to her back, softly rubbing up and down, relaxing her even more. 
                          
"baby?" 
                          
she huffed, opening her eyes and looking up at him, "yes justin?"
                          
"i love you." 
                          
she rolled her eyes, returning to her previous position, "i love you too" 
                          
she felt content as she felt him lean down and place a kiss on her head, reaching over to turn off the light. she smiled, pleased with the fact that meant he would allow her to peacefully drift to sleep. 
                          
never in a million years did kassidy ever see herself falling for one of her brother friends, but as she laid in his arms, tucked beneath the sheets of his bed, there wasn't anywhere else she'd rather be.
