Gerard woke up in the exact same position he had fallen asleep in, but Frank was no longer in his arms. He rolled over so he was laying on his back, staring up at the ceiling. He could hear the water running in the bathroom, and assumed Frank was taking a shower.

Unless... what if he wasn't just taking a shower? Gripped with fear, Gerard stood up and walked cautiously across the hall to the bathroom door. He listened for a minute, hearing nothing but running water.

He knocked gently in the door,

"Frankie?" He called softly. The water turned off,

"Yeah?" Frank called back. Gerard let out a breathe he hadn't realised he was holding in. Frank opened the door. He'd pulled on a t-shirt and some jeans, his hair was wet, plastered to his face and neck, and his cast was covered by a plastic bag secured near his elbow with tape,

"How come you're up so early?" Gerard asked, "it's only half six,"

"School," Frank said,

"Are you insane?" Gerard replied, "you wanna go to school today? You just spent three days in the hospital cause of those assholes,"

"I have to go back some time," Frank pushed past him and went back to the 'bedroom' part of the house,

"Okay, hear me out," Gerard started, "we're already halfway through the week, it's Wednesday, how about you take the rest of the week off. It's the last one before winter break, this way you get like three weeks away from them, but only miss a couple days of school," Frank hesitated,

"That does sound pretty appealing," he admitted, peeling the tape off his arm and removing the wet plastic bag,

"Exactly,"

"Okay," he said quietly, "what about you though?"

"What about me?"

"Well, you still need to go to school,"

"It's only three days, Frankie, I can stay here with you,"

"But your mom's gonna be mad,"

"My mom's never mad, sometimes a little disappointed, but if I take you with me to see her looking like that," Gerard gestures to Frank's thoroughly injured body, "we might win some sympathy,"

"Do I look that bad?" Frank cringed,

"No, not bad," Gerard hugged him, whispering in his ear, "you just look like you've been through a lot," Frank sighed,

"If we're not going to school, can we go back to bed?" He asked,

"Fuck yes," Gerard agreed.

As they lay under the covers with Frank's head resting on Gerard's chest, Frank couldn't help but think about their relationship. They'd been together for a little over two months now, and they'd slept in the same bed almost every night since Frank moved into the house, and plenty of times before that, too.
