Part Sixteen: They Whisper In The Hallway, She Is A Bad Bad Girl

                                    

                                          
"You have no idea what you are signing up for, high school sucks" Elena said as she checked herself on the mirror. He chuckled and his arms sneaked around her waist, making her giggle. "We can make out between the classes, isn't that what high school is all about?" 
"And we can stay in and make out all day, please can we stay in?" Elena pouted and Klaus laughed, shaking his head as she scoffed. "We are going, we need to keep an eye on your sister, don't we?" Elena pouted and narrowed her eyes with annoyance. "I hate my sister"
"I know" He nodded and placed one more kiss on her shoulder. Elena fixed her hair and smiled to herself, she liked herself. Not in narcissistic ways but she knew her value, it was priceless. "I am ready" She said as she turned back, causing her natural waves to dance around her head. 
They both got out of the house, walking to their car. Elena was mostly stressed about Alaric and his set of vampire hunting equipments. She was silent the whole drive but once he parked the car, she knew she had to warn him. "You have to know that my History teacher is a local vampire hunter" Klaus frowned and looked at her, and then sighed and smiled. "It will be fine" He assured her, making her nod as they got out of the car. 
School garden was filled with students who were staring at them, whispering about them as he had his arm around her, and whispers got louder as she leaned over his chest. She smirked and looked at Klaus who was wearing black sunglasses. "Now we are the new gossip material, impressive work. It would have been easier-"
"You should acknowledge that you are still a student, my arrival changes nothing. You are not skipping the school, alright?" She narrowed her eyes, he was being annoying as hell, Elena looked up to him. "You are being such a mom, and in my vocabulary, that's an insult"
"That makes both of us love" Elena sighed and caressed his arm slowly, knowing it was a sensitive point even though he did not mind to speak about. She smiled and nodded as they walked in. "Let's just get over with it"  Elena sighed as she saw Veronica walking to her way. She looked angry, angrier than Elena wanted to deal with. "Where the hell were you? What is he doing here with you?"
"Good morning Veronica, aren't you bitter today?" She said, raising Veronica's chin with her index finger. Veronica hit her hand, making Elena narrow her eyes. "I have guesses why, Stefan dumped your ass because you were sleeping with Damon" Veronica hissed and intended to attack her twin, who was stopped by Klaus. "I think there is no need to cause a scene, especially for something you did" He looked directly at Veronica who was glaring at him. Elena fixed her hair and looked at Veronica. 
"For the record, I said nothing to Stefan. It was your stupidity giving you away" Elena said emotionlessly as she watched her sister. Veronica gulped and looked at her, not really sure if she was telling the truth. "I hate you with the every fiber of my body but no, I wouldn't part you and Stefan. He was the only good thing about you" Elena sighed and turned to Klaus. "Let's go to the class"
They walked away and Veronica looked behind them, not knowing what to say. All she knew was that she hated the boy Elena was befriending. 
It was harder, but Stefan still went school that day. He was a bit late and the geography teacher was not happy. He said nothing and sat down behind Elena and Klaus, next to Bonnie. The young witch sent him a sympathetic look before turning back to the board. 
The lesson was annoying as hell, no one liked geography at all. Elena was sighing and looking at the clock in every twenty seconds and cursing Klaus for dragging her into this. And Klaus was just looking around, not caring about anything inside of the classroom other than Elena.
When the bell had finally rung, Elena was more than happy with the fact that she won't have to see Mrs Only-Complains-and-Never-Teaches till the Friday. She turned her back to see Bonnie and Stefan sitting behind them, she sent Stefan a sad smile. "How are you doing Stef?"
"I've been better. How about you two? Fitting into high school so far Ansel?" Klaus narrowed his eyes chuckled, making Elena scoff and Stefan rose his eyebrows. "It is a handful experience for me, you can say"
"I told him that we should have stay in"
"And I told you that you have to continue your education and my presence changes nothing on that matter" Bonnie smiled to them, she was glad that Elena was finally getting it right. At least she thought she was, Bonnie was not aware who Ansel really was. "So, how old are you?" Stefan asked casually, genuinely curios. 
Klaus smiled and thought about a random number. "It's been more than four centuries I believe, I stopped counting the exact year" Elena nodded her head with gladness, it was a believable lie, but again Klaus was an amazing liar. Stefan nodded as well and Bonnie looked away, she hated vampires, a lot. "I have never wanted to become one, I don't think anyone would"
He said mockingly like he was mourning his mortality and happiness. However then, his face lightened and looked at Elena with sweetness. "But then, if I haven't became a vampire, I wouldn't get to know Elena. How would I?" 
Elena smiled and now their hands were touching slightly. She took a shaky breath, in the end she was just a girl who craved for some love, Klaus was giving her all the love he could consume. Everything he had said might have been a lie, from his name to his age, but one thing remained true beneath his lies. He was more than happy to meet Elena and if it was his immortality gave him that chance, then he was grateful for it.
