"And an animagus. That is a snake. Why do you think we're still here, Mum?" James straightened, "We don't have a choice. We have to kill her. She's old enough to kill whoever she likes." James spat, snapping up to his feet.

"James.." Lily whispered.

"All my life... I've been joking around, playing pranks on everyone but just because I'm reckless doesn't mean I'm careless. I'm the older one here. I say we kill her and I will not listen to any reason! You hear me, dad!" He fought and I was taken aback for a bit. Then I stood and walked around to him.

"James, you know who you're named after and what they were right?" I grinned at him.

"What, were they jokers too?" He shook his head, taunting.

"Well, yeah." I nodded and he looked at me with scrunched brows, "And still... both of them fought valiantly till the end. You are not weak just because you play life by the wings, James. You are strong because you see it a little better than everyone else. We will think about what to do with Saphire when we find her, but torturing ourselves over this will drive you crazy."

"It already has." His lips trembled but he looked away, "I'm the older one, I'm supposed to protect you, aren't I?"

"Well, you protected them." I cocked my head at Albus and Lily, "You listened to your mother and you protected them. That's all we'd have needed in that moment. To know that our kids were safe."

"Yeah.", he sniffed, rubbing a finger under his nose, "But I'm not going to live that life, Dad. I'm not going to let Albus be the next boy who goes to Azkaban. Or me the boy who lived. Or Lil, running around, trying to piece things together. I'm going to end this before it starts. I am not going to let myself, my brother or sister live the lives you had to go through. Isn't that why you fought the war? So we won't have to live such a life?"

"Of course, we did." I squeezed his shoulder, "To this day, I'm terrified of something coming for you. Only you and Teddy are here for now but I'm always on my toes with the lot of any of you but if there is one thing that I learned from all of that was that everyone who died, didn't stop living before it happened. So, James, if this one shot, doesn't pan out, you will obliviate us. You will take your brother and sister and you three will raise each other right." I looked around the room. A tear dropped from Lily's eye, "I know you don't want to. Of course, I know. But if that's the end for us, then that's what you're going to have to do, right?"

"What if another war starts, with Saphire?" Albus spoke up.

"Then we'll fight her too." James finally spoke, "Together."

I nodded at him, appreciatively and proud.

"Mum, you want to know something?" Lily leaned up on the table.

"Yeah."

"None of us are werewolves." She spoke almost sad but happy that that's what Ginny'd wanted for all of her kids.

"Really? Oh, thank Merlin." She cupped her cheeks, laughing. I chuckled.

"Come on." I tapped James' back, "Eat. We'll figure this out. Alright?" I looked around. They nodded and fetched themselves some food.

When the kids were fed, we all sat around, still and quiet.

"James, you mentioned that Saphire was a discarded daughter?"

"Yeah."

"Why?" I asked.

"No idea." He shrugged. I realized they wouldn't know much, all they would know was how to work the time line.
