Louis POV

After dropping Harry off at his house I drove back home, thinking up a story to tell my dads instead of the truth. If they knew I was already spending afternoons driving Harry Styles around town and buying him McDonalds then they'll have him by the end of the week. I was going to spend as much time with this boy as I could, even if it was just as friends.

My thoughts spiralled around my head and I was driving on auto-pilot until I realised I'd pulled into the driveway.

I grabbed my school bag and the plastic bag filled with my new football stuff and locked the car, heading inside.

"Hey son, how was school?" Dad asked from the kitchen.

"Pretty good actually. I made a few mates on the football team, they suggested I should try out." I explained, I reckon my story sounded pretty real.

"That's good Louis. Can you help set the table for dinner?" Papa asked and I dropped my bags by the bottom of the stairs and helped Papa and Dad get dinner sorted.

"So what did you buy?" Dad asked, nodding his head towards the plastic bag filled with my football stuff.

We were eating dinner at the little table, the tv muted in the background, playing the news.

"Just some boots and stuff for football." I replied.

"Don't get too attached to the school though Louis, you will have to leave once the job's been taken care of." Papa said.

"I know that Papa, but I should enjoy myself in the meantime right?" I said.

"Definitely." Dad replied.

-----

In the morning I had a quick shower and got dressed, filling my kitbag with the new boots, socks and shin pads, along with a change of clothes.

I swung my school bag onto one shoulder and ran downstairs, hurriedly eating breakfast.

"Woah, slow down lad. Do you want to spend the day throwing up?" Papa asked.

"Sorry, I've got to go." I replied, tipping the last of the cereal into the sink and shoving the bowl roughly into the dishwasher.

"I'll be home late, football trials. I'll probably miss dinner." I said as I grabbed my keys from beside the door.

"Don't worry, drive safe Louis." Dad said.

"Yeah we don't want you home in pieces alright?" Papa added.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." I replied as the front door shut behind me.

I threw my school bag and kitbag into the backseat, got into the drivers seat and started the car, driving straight to school.

I parked the car, locked it, grabbed my stuff, checked around to make sure Niall wasn't going to attack me again, then found my way to my locker.

I shoved a few of my books and my kitbag into the locker then slammed it shut as Harry arrived.

"Hey Louis. Got your stuff for football?" Harry asked, putting his own kitbag into his locker.

"Yeah, I can drop you home after if you want?" I offered.

"Thanks, usually I'd run but tryouts are fucking exhausting." Harry replied as we started walking to homeroom.

-----

School passed extremely slowly, probably because I was excited for football.

But finally the final bell rang and Harry and I grabbed our stuff from our lockers and made our way to the changing room.

The room was a loud room filled with half-naked rowdy teenagers. Harry seemed to know quite a few people and fist bumped a lot of the boys as we passed.

We found a corner and I changed out of my uncomfortable school uniform into some football shorts and a shirt. Harry was done by the time I'd pulled my shin pads out of the bag but he waited for me as I pulled on my socks and then my boots and tied the laces.

We followed the rest of the lads out onto the field where the coach started barking instructions at us. Training went on a lot longer than expected, we did five laps of the field for a warmup, then stretching, then a lecture, then a passing exercise, then a possession exercise, then a half hour break, then another two laps of the field, then sprints, then a dribbling exercise, then a shooting exercise and finally a game.

Harry, me and the rest of the lads walked back into the changing rooms without speaking, too out of breath for much else. We slowly took off our boots and things then grabbed our bags and left.

Harry and I walked back to my car.

"I'm fucking knackered." I said.

"Me too, and hungry." Harry replied.

"Let's get food." I said and so I started the car and drove into town.

"What do you want?" I asked as we drove down the main road.

"Pizza?" Harry suggested, pointing towards a Pizza Hut.

So I pulled in, parked the car and we went inside.

Both of us ate a whole pizza each and finished our Cokes, then walked slowly back to the car, tired and extremely full.

"Thanks for the ride Louis." Harry said as I pulled up outside his house.

"No problemo. I'll see you tomorrow." I replied.

"Yeah, tomorrow it is." Harry said and he walked into the house with a wave.
