"Get out of my apartment!" She shouted, grabbing her wand that was strapped to her thigh.
"Leave!"
"Now now, Malina. I'm not here to hurt you." The man got up from the chair, stalking toward her carefully.
She flew a spell his way and he easily blocked it, his fingers just moving to redirect the spell.
Her eyes widened, the man was powerful, very powerful.
"What do you want." She hissed at, still keeping her wand raised toward him.
"I've come to see you, Donovan." He replied.
"How do you know my name."
"We used to go to school together, back at Hogwarts."
"I don't remember seeing you there." She spat.
"That's because your memories were swiped." He said smoothly.
"Bullshit. Stop lying and get the fuck out of my apartment!" She moved her wand closer to him, but he quickly snatched it from her tight hold.
"You need to calm down" he told her.
"What do you want from me!" She yelled.
The door opened from behind her and Tanner stepped through.
"Malina you forgot th-" he stopped once her saw the man and her in the room, the tension thick.
"Who is this?" He asked, going up to her.
He instantly fell to the ground. Tom's wand was pointed toward him.
"Are you insane!"
"Don't be ridiculous. We both know you never cared for him. Now do you want back your memories or not?"
"I'm not missing any memories." She said through gritted teeth.
"Don't be so childish Malina." He grabbed her arm tightly and pulled her against him.
His wand pressed against her temple and a cold feeling rushed through her head.
Her eyes clamped down, as the memories flowed back to her.
The train ride, the meals, the days at the black lack, their meetings, Albania, Ivan, Dumbledore.
Everything rushed to her and she gasped as she stepped back. Her eyes wide. She felt like she was about to have a heart attack.
"It's okay, Malina." The man said, helping her steady herself.
"Tom." She whispered. She rushed to him, wrapping him in a tight hug; one he did not return.
She stepped back, finally getting a good look at him.
He looked older, in his mid twenties like her. His hair was perfect like always and his body was toner then before.
His jawline looked like it could cut through anything and his eyes were a bright green, specks of red hidden underneath.
He wore a suit without a tie. The black button up clung to his abdomen.
"What happened?" She asked, recollecting her thoughts.
"Dumbledore." He gritted out. "He took you seven years ago."
"No trace of you or nothing. You just disappeared and all I got was a note from Dumbledore that you wanted a fresh start." He sat back down on the chair, she followed him and sat across, her red dress trailing behind her.
"I, of course, thought it was utter bullshit. You wouldn't just leave like that, after how much we both worked for everything."
"I've only tracked you until now. When I saw in the daily prophet that you were marrying Tanner Andre."
Silence filled the air. She soaked in what he said, trying to fit the pieces together.
"It was Ivan."
"What?"
"He took me that night. He put some drug in my tea that made me pass out. I remember him dragging me somewhere."
"I'm gonna kill that son of a bitch" Tom muttered.
"Dumbledore must of erased my memory when I was asleep. I don't remember seeing him."
She sighed deeply, trying to recall all the past memories.
"I remember waking up in here. Just thinking that I lived in this small apartment"
She looked into his eyes and he was already staring at her.
"Why have you come here Tom?" She asked him
"I've come to bring you back."
"Why?"
"I need your powers to help with my goal to immortality. Just like before."
"You still want me to lead by your side? After everything?"
"No. You will become a follower. You are no longer by my side. I lead a lone." He told her, no emotion in his tone.
"What if I don't want to become one of your followers." She said.
"Then I'll kill you."
"I'm sure you'd love to." She scoffed.
A tight hold wrapped around her throat. Tom still sat in his chair, his had stretched toward her, using his magic to strangle her by the throat.
"I won't tolerate such disobedience, Donovan."
"You have a choice. Join me tonight, or die in the room along with your beloved fiancé."
He let his grip go, she tried to catch her breath. She gripped the arm of the chair in anger, as she stared at the man.
"Why do you want me to join your group so badly."
"I've already told you. I need your power."
He got up from his chair, making his way out the door. He looked back.
"You have five minutes to decide."
He waited by the door from what she assumed. She sat in silence as she thought to herself.
She really didn't have a choice. She could duel him but she was too tired for that. From what she could tell, he had grown stronger.
She took a deep breath and looked out toward the city.
Tom had changed. A lot. He was no longer the young boy she once remembered.
Was this the life she wanted? She was finally free of Tom and now he has made his way back to her.
She once thought she was falling in love with him, but the years apart proved other wise. She simple hated him; deeply.
She got up from her spot on the chair and walked to the balcony. Breathing in the warm air.
She gripped the railing tightly until her knuckles turned white.
Why does he want to ruin my life
She would no longer lead the knights. She would be powerless. How is that fair? She helped create them.
A figure behind her snapped her out of her thoughts. Tom approached the railing beside her, his hands clasped behind his back.
He gazed around the city, taking in the bright lights.
"New York really is a disgusting place."
She rolled her eyes. He always had to kill the mood.
He faced her now, one hand reaching for the metal railing.
"What is your decision?" He asked her.
She sighed.
"I accept your offer. I'll join your group of followers."
Another chapter!! :) I hope you enjoyed!
