after that strange encounter, the two girls walked (floated) side by side near the shore of the styx merrily chatting away. Well, in reality only Kiara was talking while Calli merely listened.
With a smile on her face, Kiara kept talking and talking like a broken dam until they finally reach the boatman.
"Well...I guess this is goodbye" says Calli
"hmm? what do you mean? you arn't coming? I still havn't seen most of the underworld though..." asks Kiara.
"Well...I still have scythe swinging and reaping lessons. If I arrive late, Death sensei will skin me alive..."
Kiara sighs, "Ah...I see... can't you make time? I won't be staying long in the underworld anyway"
When Kiara said that, Calli made a confused face. Kiara giggles as she says " I'm a pheonix silly, I'll revive sooner or later whether I like it or not"
"...Eh? wait...isn't that basically cheating??... what's the point of dying in the first place?!?!"
"Teehee" Kiara said as she sticks out her tongue and winks.
Calli mutters something that suspiciously sounds like "kusotori", and then takes out two gold coins while walking towards the ferryman.
"seats for two please, just across the river." as calli gives the coins to the ferryman.
Kiara's eyes were sparkling as she exclaims " are you serious?!?! WOOHOO! Calli's taking me out for a daaate!, Calli's taking me out on a daaate! (In a sing song voice)"
"Shutup kusotori! I'm only doing this just in case you cause trouble, resurrection is bad enough, but doing it too many times would ruin the underworld..." Calli said with a slight blush.
"Whatever you say Calli" teased Kiara. With a "guh", they made their way to the black ship of the ferryman, filled to the brim with souls entering the underworld.
as they take their seats, Kiara looked at the black river out of curiosity. She screamed and grabbed on to Calli's hand as she found a ghoulish face looking up at her from the water.
"Wha-what was that?!?" asked the terrified Kiara.
Calli didnt even flinch as she said " probably one of those lost souls that took a dive into the styx, spend even a second in that water and you will cease to exist, oh hey, that rhymed, that would make a banger lyric" as she scribbled something down on what looked like paper.
For the rest of the ride, Kiara never let go of Calli's hand.
