My dad and I had rushed to the hospital after I spoke to Aiden on the phone. The news of Pearl's death was a shocker to us all, and the team had lost as well. I was biting on my nails as my dad drove. He was sighing uncontrollably, knowing Aiden was in pain. We all heard him cry on the phone and his cry made me shed tears as well. To think they had broken up and all that shit he did with Dior just to spite Pearl must be breaking him. These past few days, my brother acted like a tough person in school because Pearl was there to see '; he moved on and it made me angry every single day.
The innocent Pearl would sit idly with her study glasses on and a book in her hand, watching the guy I was very sure she loved flirt with Dior in front of her. It was an eyesore and he would either yell at me or flip things at me when I talked about it.
My dad and I arrived at the hospital's parking lot and I rushed out of the car, calling out Aiden's name. My dad followed. "Aiden," I stopped my steps, seeing my brother cramped down on his knees next to his car. I rushed to him and he didn't even lift his head. His sobs were uncontrollable. I had never seen him this way before. He always showed his 'maturity' and how strong he was in front of everyone, even when he was hurting.
I knelt next to him and held his hand. He slowly looked at me and his face had turned pale. His eyes were blaring in flames, swollen and teary. I hugged him and it gingered his tears. My dad sighed heavily and I glanced at him. We all didn't know what to do. "Let's go home, Aiden." My dad held his hand and stood him up. He hugged him and patted his back.
"I'm sorry." My dad said to him. We waited around for him to calm down because this was really hard to take in. "Take him home. I'll follow behind." I nodded to my dad. He walked with Aiden to the passenger door and helped him sit. "I can't even imagine what you're going through right now, but you should get home with Ava and take a shower." Aiden nodded to him and my dad signed at me to take him home. I sat down in the car and glanced at him. He wasn't himself.
I kept quiet throughout the drive home. I was just sighing, thinking of all the good and bad times they had, even their arguments. Aiden stepped out first once I parked the car at our home. I quickly stepped out and followed him. My dad parked his car and we all walked inside.
Mrs. Thora Brady, my mom, was waiting with Henry. Henry ran to Aiden and hugged his legs. That little boy was never good to anyone. "Mum said you're in pain and I should be good to you." He spoke. Aiden ruffled his dark brown hair and smiled a little. That worked, I guess.
"I'll be in my room," Aiden spoke in his hoarse voice and went ahead to his room. We heard him lock his door. I sat on the couch and sighed heavily.
"Why does this feels like a dream?" I asked.
"It does feel like one." My mom answered.
"I feel so bad for him. They argued these past few days and just broke up over some shit and now she's gone. I think I should start being good to people." My dad walked up to me and sat next to me. "What do we do about him?"
