It was a beautiful late evening in California the sun setting low in the sky, with fiery clouds around it and dark skies above. Elena Montero was riding on her horse. She always went out for a ride whenever she'd have a difficult day. Riding was good for her, it helped her clear her mind and forget her troubles.

As Elena is riding along, staring up at the sky, there's a movement in between the Mexican soldiers' horses. Elena's horse slightly jumps, so does she when a man comes out from between the horses. Elena's breath catches in the back of her throat when her eyes meet his. The man was wearing a black mask that covered the top half of his face. He stares up at her and tilts his head to the side, studying her. She smiles at him. He puts a finger to his lips shushing her as he steps closer to her horse and rests his hand on the mare's face stroking it gently. He looks down at the horse then back up at Elena.

"Be careful señoríta there are dangerous men about," he says.

Elena swallows. "Well, if you see any be sure to point them out."

The masked man nods, then looks down at her horse again. Then he looks her in the eye once more and runs up the stairs of the building disappearing on the rooftop, with his cape trailing behind him.

'What a man,' Elena thought to herself. No other man had made her feel the way this masked man just did. Her heart was beating rapidly and she was warm and feverish all over, her head in a daze. How could one man make her feel that way without touching her? Either way Elena Montero knew she'd see that man again.... Soon.
