There's no one in the end

No one was there
No one saw what I did
There wasn't a soul
To hold that little kid

No one to help
To give them a smile
No one to say
"Let's stay here for a while"

No one to care
No one to stop it
No one to bandage
That little slit

So one became two
Became five, became ten
More and more
Again and again

And there was no one to stop it
No one to tell
No one who'd do anything
More than just yell

"It's not that bad"
"I've had worse"
Their words hung around
Like a magicians curse

Always there
On the edge of your mind
All the things they said
That were less than kind

"Cut yourself" "Starve yourself"
"Make yourself pretty"
They don't care
If you're funny or witty

Cause there's no one in the end
Who will dry your tears
You'll lose them all
Over the years

The people you thought
You'd spend your life with
Will fade from you life
Their friendship, a myth
