Dear World,
Dean came in for a surprise visit. He had a photoshoot near our house and it was a three-day photoshoot. Instead of staying in a hotel, he decided to stay at our house. He was so happy to see me and apologise for not being able to give me a birthday gift. I assured him that now that he was here for two nights that was enough gift for me. But Dean had a different thought in mind.
The first day of the shoot ended at six, Dean asked permission from my parents that he will take me to one of the mall's restaurants to treat me some dinner. My parents agreed right away and let Dean borrow dad's car. It was my birthday celebration and I'm really happy that Dean treated me on this day. It's Halloween as well and he bought me a huge bar of chocolate for myself, a treat for me making it to the top 10 students.
Dean talked a lot of random stuff about his college he even asked me what I plan to pursue when I graduated. Somehow it's not a scary and awkward question anymore. I've thought about this and I figured that it's what I want to do for a long time.
"Dean, I think I'll go to Britsvie with you." I said.
"Really? What course are you going to take? Little sis, don't tell me you want to be a model like me. You said it yourself this isn't a career to be pursued for a long time."
"Stop for one second and I'll tell you what I'm going to take."
"Okay, what is it? Tell me right away, no beating around the bush."
"Dean, you're babbling. I want to be a director."
"Oh, my freaking goodness!" Dean stood and went around the table and hugged me tight, "Are you sure wow, finally you realize what you really want. I know that you had it in you."
"You knew that I have the potential that I'd choose to be a director?"
"I know that you will be an amazing director and that deep down it's what you really want. You just hadn't realized it yet. You were young and it's okay."
"Thank you, Dean."
"A tossed for the future director and producer." Dean lifts a glass of soda in the air. I just shook my head at him but raise my soda glass as well.
Dean drive me home and walk me to the door. We have been talking a lot of random stuff, mostly about college in Britsvie and my plans. Dean cracks her lames jokes and I laugh at his efforts, not his jokes all the way home.
When we reach the entrance door Dean became silent and stared down at the door. I got confused so I followed their direction to what he was looking at. At the foot of our door lay a cardboard box parcel. I relax because it might be one of my family's parcels.
"Were you expecting any delivery, Sandra?"
"Nope, but maybe Maddie or my parents does. Let me check the tagged." I read the tag and was surprised that the box was sent for me. "That's odd."
"What?"
"It says it's for me."
"Check who sent it." I did what Dean said, but there was no return address.
"No return address but I'll call the mailing office tomorrow to know who sent this."
"Alright, I'll come tomorrow to check. Good night." we hugged and Dean walk back to his vehicle. With one last wave, he sped off.
The parcel is too light for a bomb but I have no idea what's inside either. I'm not stupid even if I call the mailing office tomorrow if the sender doesn't want to be known then no one would know who it came from.
When I arrive at my room, I gave the box a thorough look. There was no stamp from the mailing office. Whoever delivered this box put this here personally. Maybe this is a prank, my classmates made. Tsk. So much effort.
I tossed the box to the corner of my room and went to the bathroom to get ready for the night. After getting ready I was writing in this journal when I decided to look ahead of me. That's when I saw William in his room, clutching a pen or pencil in his hand and he was looking at me as well. I smiled and he smiled back.
Always,
Sandra
