"Of c-course." The NightWing dipped her head. "You can w-wait in the t-throne room."
The RainWings brushed past the little NightWing, heading down a gigantic hallway with large windows, tapestries, and a long carpet the whole way through across from the palace door that led to a flight of stairs straight up to a huge room with a grand throne and five slightly smaller thrones on either side of it. there was a wooden ledge above the biggest throne, draped with beautiful leaves. There was a huge nest on it, big enough for a dragon, that was made of sticks and grass. There were also amethysts and citrine gems scattered all around the nest.
The throne in the middle was made of gold with lapis lazuli gems decorating it and a plush white pillow on it. the other thrones were each different. A sandstone throne with onyx gems on it, a throne made of ice-like silver with diamonds in it, one made of dark gray stone with rubies in it, one made of dark silver with moonstones in it, one made of wood with beautiful flowers on vines that were wrapped around it, one made of a darker wood with emeralds embedded in it, one made of marble with pearls in it, one made of a dusty stone with beautiful silk tapestries draped over it, one made of treestuff – tree bark mushed up with water and then dried to create something – with gold and obsidian swirls decorating it, and one made of clay with pieces of amber in it.
There were tall windows behind the thrones, making the huge room glow and the gems in the thrones and embedded in the walls sparkle. Despite being prisoner, Eclipse found the room dazzlingly wonderful. It was the most beautiful room she'd ever been in. Then again, she hadn't really ever been in a room before this, let alone a palace room. She wondered why Drolgons didn't live in palaces and buildings like dragons did. She would go for a palace any day, instead of a muddy clearing with soggy nests to sleep in. But then she supposed it was better for some Drolgons, because even if they were a lot like dragons, they still smelled like stinky dogs when they got wet.
The NightWing stepped quietly into the room, and sat near the biggest throne.
"You c-can leave now..." the NightWing mumbled to the RainWings. "The g-guards won't let t-them out, if they t-try to escape." She waved her tail toward Eclipse, Raven, and Spark.
The RainWings glanced at her, and then exited the palace.
"M-my name is Moonstone," she said quietly.
Spark looked away, Moonstone looking from him to Raven and back with an unreadable expression on her face.
"Anyway, w-what're your names?" Moonstone asked, turning to Eclipse and Raven and losing most of her nervous stutter.
"My name's Eclipse," Eclipse informed her.
"Mine's Raven," Raven muttered.
"Nice to meet you," Moonstone said, although she shot Raven a suspicious and maybe a little bit jealous look.
"Queen S-Sunset should be b-back anytime now," Moonstone reported after a long silence.
A time passed, before Eclipse heard dragons calling to each other from outside the palace, and the palace door opened.
A beautiful dragon stepped through, her glittery crimson-orange scales lighting up like fire in the sunlight. She held her long, elegant tail just off the ground, and her chin high. Moonstone rushed over to her, and told her what Eclipse, Raven, and Spark were doing in the throne room.
Queen Sunset... Eclipse mused. It fits. I could see her shimmering on the horizon like a sunset with the white patches on her scales like clouds. She's so pretty. She's sparklier than the thrones! She's like a jewel in the sunlight.
