Chapter 24 – Police Raid

 Salazar's manor

          Dodson scrolled through his smartphone news feeds, then came across an article:
                          
BUILDER SHOT DEAD – Kyle Reagan, killed by goons.
                          
          He then read the article, which got him angry. Then he put his phone away and looked at Dustin. Dustin glared back at him.
                          
          "What the hell have you done, Dustin?" said Dodson. "You've ruined everything!"
                          
          "I told you, no one should dare go anywhere near that orphanage." Dustin declared. "I'm not letting anyone have that land."
                          
          Dodson got irked, but Salazar signaled him to calm down.
                          
Two hours later...
                          
          Lt. Lewis, along with other police officers had arrived at the orphanage to inquire about Reagan's death. He then came across Kyle, from the Brute Force Gang, and began giving him a thrashing.
                          
          "Who killed Kyle Reagan?" said Lewis, angrily. "Was it you? You also have his name?"
                          
          Kyle tried to escape, to no avail. Everyone was watching the scene, and the other kids showed up. They were horrified. Katy ran out to stop this.
                          
          "LEAVE HIM! HE IS INNOCENT!" shouted Katy.
                          
          Mitchell also then ran outside to stop this. He pried Lewis off Kyle. Then he looked at him.
                          
          "Why are you beating this innocent, who's done thing?" said Mitchell.
                          
          "If he is innocent, then who killed Kyle Reagan?" roared Lewis, as he released Kyle.
                          
          "You know very well who killed him? But you won't arrest them!" said Mitchell. "You'll instead attack innocents to get to them."
                          
          "Search everywhere!" said Lewis. "One of them has done it."
                          
          The rest of the Brute Force Gang then arrived, then formed a blockade.
                          
          "The police have no business here!" said Jonathan.
                          
          "Y'all better turn back, as there is nothing to see here!" said Erica.
                          
          Sarah then threw a melon at one of the officers, gesturing him to leave. Lewis then roared in anger, while signaling his men to attack.
                          
          "CHARGE!" said Lewis, and everyone else began to throw rocks from the ground at one another, along with fruits from nearby grocery stalls.
                          
          Nick threw a melon, which hit Lewis on his head. Lewis held his head in pain, then glared at Nick. He then drew his pistol, aimed at Nick, and fired at him. The bullet hit Nick in his chest, and he gasped in pain.
                          
          "Nick!" shouted Katy!
                          
          "NICK!" Mitchell also shouted and ran towards him.
                          
          "Nick!" everyone else yelled his name and ran to him.
                          
          Nick gasped again in pain, then stopped moving. He was lifeless and dead. Katy began to shed tears!
                          
          "NOOOOOO!" she cried.
                          
          Everyone else was terrified seeing him dead. Mitchell then looked at Lewis!
                          
          "You shot him!" said Mitchell. "You killed Nick!"
                          
          Lewis then grabbed Mitchell and began to thrash him.
                          
          "TELL ME WHO DID IT THEN!" shouted Lewis as he continued to beat Mitchell.
                          
          "I know who did kill him!" said Chris, one of the orphans, only seven.
                          
          Lewis then walked to him.
                          
          "Yes, dear boy!" said Lewis. "Tell me!"
                          
          "It was Nick!" said Chris.
                          
          "Rascal!" said Lewis.
