Three Years Ago,

Within Ulaz Medical Room...

"Tell me about your home" Pidge asked barely above a whisper as she dazedly looked to the man face who's lap became her pillow.

"Home, huh?" Shiro replied in a clam tone, running his flesh fingers through the princess long hair and enjoying how soft it felt in his touch.

"Hmm" Pidge hummed, closing her eyes as she allowed herself to enjoy the moment.

"It's safe, a beautiful place even if some days can be hard to see the beauty it may hold. The Garrison is always busy and loud but the moment you escape the life of a solder as soon as you race those sandy hills with a hover bike, it's like nothing you've ever felt before. The wind in your face, the fresh smell that can't ever be made by anything but mother nature herself. The heat on your back that just warms you perfectly and the freedom of racing towards something you only ever dream about .. it's breath taking" Shiro answered with a gentle and joyful smile, a fond look in his eyes as he spoke over one of things he loved on earth.

He took the chance to steal a glance at the figure who's became his safest and most reason of adoring in the past year. Tensing as she was already staring at him with such a warm look that he actually forgot the memory of riding on his hover bike, wanting to stay enchanted by the new warmth filling him as he looked to her.

"Tell me more, tell me what it's like to feel the luckiest person alive" Pidge asked with a soft smile, reaching her hand up and placing it on his cheek.

"It's the greatest feeling alive" Shiro answered breathless as he leaned into her touch, keeping her gaze with his own warmed one.

"Rather breathless too" Pidge admitted as she stroked her thumb over the edge of his scar.

"Indeed it is" Shiro agreed, turning his head and placing a simple but meaningful kiss to her palm.

"Tell me more of earth, tell me all the memories you hold dear whenever you feel like breaking. Tell me over the reasons that you carry on fighting, surviving long enough to return home. I want to know everything, enough to know how you'll live once you gain your freedom and leave" Pidge spoke, a pleading look in her eye as she lowered her hand back to her stomach, leaving it resting there.

"You could always find out how I'll live by coming with me, explore that better world that you think I live" Shiro offered, a hopeful look in his eyes as he almost wanted to beg her to come home with him.

She just smiled in response, never giving her answer at the time as she knew the answered she wanted to say and the answer she'll lend up giving was two different things.

She wished she could give him her honest answer, the one he pleaded for.

But she knew the answer she would give in the end would only hurt them both.

So, she just smiled and enjoyed the moment they had buried themselves in tightly. The moment that made her feel so warmth and safe, making her wish to never step out of the room ever again just to keep the moment alive a little longer.
