It's time for our weekly dinner meet and this time, it's at our home. Mom has invited Aarav too. I don't know why, I don't get good vibes from him. I'm very grateful that he saved Dad's life and was with him for such long time but still he doesn't give me any good vibes.
"Daniel? What're you thinking? I've been calling you for the last 5 minutes." Kiara said as she kept her hands on my chest. I involuntarily wrapped mine around her waist and offered her a smile.
"You're looking beautiful, coraźon." I said and she blushed.
"You're looking good too." She said and I kissed her lips.
She pulled away but I bought her further in and kissed her more passionately. She kissed me back but pulled away after a minute.
"Let me kiss my wife!" I said and she rolled her eyes.
"Are you okay with seeing your Dad so soon?" She asked and I nodded my head sceptically.
The other day when Kia and I left mom's apartment and came back home, we talked about my Dad's surprise return. I'm not very comfortable with him yet but I need to accept the fact that he's here and a part of our family once again. I just need time to get used to his presence around here.
Mom and Savannah have very easily accepted him back but it's a bit difficult for me. I was the most affected when the news about his plane crashed first reached us 6 years. I wasn't ready to accept it but after a couple days no one contacted us about him, I had to come to terms with it. The whole company was on my shoulders now since Dad wasn't here anymore and to add it, Savannah's then-fiancé called off their engagement with some vague reason. The company's value in market had suddenly decreased since the last CEO was absent and I naturally wasn't ready to take over yet. It felt as if bad news were raining on our family. All of us were in immense stress and were worried about future all the time.
I worked hard and built this company once again and Mom took care of Savannah's broke heart. They both supported me a lot and I successfully took care of the company. Savannah met Jack by accident. They dated for around 8 months after which they decided to get married. Mom opened her NGO which helps women and children whose husbands and fathers were victims of any accidents.
Over the years we all dealt with the pain and learned how to live our lives without him. We learned to adjust to his absence and navigate our lives without him in it. Now, that he's back, Mom and Savannah have started acting as if he was never gone. That day, they filled him in on whatever has happened in the past years while he was gone.

"I'll be fine." I reassured Kia and she nodded.
We walked down and she started rechecking all the arrangements. When I entered the dining room, I saw there were only 8 plates set on the table.
"Kia, why're there on 8 plates? Who're you missing?" I asked and she counted all of us out on her fingers.
"You forgot Aarav." I pointed.
"He-he's invited?" She asked and I nodded my head.
"If you're not comfortable, I can ask him not to come." I said but she shook her head negative.
"It's fine." She said but the smile on her face face no longer there.

"Kiara? Where can I wash my hands?" Aarav asked Kia. She placed the bowl of custard on the table and gestured towards the bathroom.
Aarav nodded his head and went towards it. I was engaged in a discussion with Xav when I heard Aarav call Kia.
She walked to the bathroom and after a moment, I went too. They didn't see me but I was there. I don't trust Aarav near Savannah or Kiara. I'm protective of my girls.
"You can act all you want but I know you remember me." Aarav said. They know each other?
"Aarav, you can go to hell for all I care. Why'd you even come here? You could've declined the invitation." Kiara said and Aarav started walking towards her.
"Please don't act like that Kiara. I know you remember me. I just want to clear things out between us. I want you to know what really happened." He almost pleaded but Kiara ignore his words completely.
"Stay away from me." She warned and walked out of the bathroom and turning the corner, she saw me.
"Kiara?" I questioned.
I've got no clue what the hell is going on over here.
"Daniel, I can explain." She said but before she can say a thing, Aarav stood next to him. Aarav looked at Kiara with a nervous look in his eyes and it didn't take a genius for me to understand that something was wrong between them. Something was fishy.
"I've dated your wife in the past." He said.
"The fuck?" I said and punched him on his face, resulting in his nose to start bleeding.
