"And that's what she told me! Now I don't need to bug him on asking for her name" She concluded with a complacent smirk on her visage
The same girl continued on about it for hours straight, that her friends wouldn't get a chance to speak up
She tapped the table, trying to get the attention of her friends who were inches closer to falling asleep
"Did I tell you that Ms. Klein looks way prettier up close? She barely seems like her age" She exclaimed
"Yes, the same answer to the same thing you said thirty seconds ago"
After that, the girl's countless babbles began to continue - until the door behind them swung open
"I see that our Lieutenant Colonel already told you her name, Gabi"
Her face lit up "Hello miss Pieck!"
The woman sat beside the kids, returning their greetings with a faint smile as she spoke "I'm surprised you were able to initiate a conversation with her. She rarely talks to anyone except Mr. Fischer"
"It was barely even a conversation, the Lieutenant Colonel told her to leave right away" As one of her friends stated, the others muffled in their quiet chuckles - except Gabi who was glaring at the boy
Gabi rolled her eyes "It was a conversation Udo, you're envious because you never got the chance"
"Me? Jealous" He argued back at Gabi "Like I would even want to get close to her in the first place!"
Pieck chuckled to ease the tension between them "We started sharing a few conversations since last week, and I could tell you she's not as vicious as they claim her to be"
They averted their attention to her, clearly amazed by the fact that a polar opposite of the Lieutenant Colonel became her acquaintance
"Really? Well then what's she like?"
Pieck gazed into space, trying to recall her experiences "Well, I try hard to get her to talk more about herself, but somehow all she ever thinks about is training hours. Ms. Klein's a very hardworking and serious girl when it comes to work"
"Telling from the way she punishes the cadets, I can agree that she's a bit too cruel" She chuckled "But overall she's quite a nice person"
The door opens, and in came a soldier, looking for a certain girl. When he realized she wasn't around, he asked "Where is the Lieutenant Colonel? She's being asked to the questioning room"
Questioning Room? The kids were confused at his statement, but Pieck quickly knew the reason why
"Ah, is their leader still refusing to talk?" Pieck drawled "She's still at the grounds, so I'll call her myself"
The lady got up from her seat and left with the soldier, leaving them in the room - "What's that about?"
"A soldier here was reported to be sharing our information with local syndicates, I heard it from Reiner earlier morning" Responded Gabi
Zofia resumed "I think they're now resorting to physical torture, that's why they called for the Lieutenant"
---
"Lieutenant Colonel Klein, these are the warrior candidate's files I retrieved from War Chief Jaeger"
The girl strayed her eyes from the cadets, receiving the folder from her assistant. Silently reading their profiles one by one, she stopped flipping the pages when she saw the candidate she was looking for
