Kao
I bit on my lower lip to stop myself from laughing with how Lia was nitpicking on her porridge at the moment.
She was so excited about having it earlier but now that she's actually eating it, there was nothing in her face that says happy anywhere.
And it was all because she was not able to see Pete even if we made a stupid detour to the latter's faculty.
The receptionist there told us that Pete was out for his class and I couldn't be any happier.
I'd love a chance to never see him if it were up to me.
"I hate you!"
Lia groaned right after she saw looking so amused at her trying so hard to straighten my face.
"What!?! It's not my fault he wasn't there, was it!?!"
Lia rolled her eyes at me and I rolled my eyes back not understanding this current obsession she had with Pete.
"Well, you could have texted him and asked him just like what I told you to do but you didn't."
She snapped back at me.
"I walked so far for nothing."
She said as she poured out all her frustrations on the porridge by eating it at one go.
"Nobody told you to."
I said as I passed her some napkins for her messy mouth and the sweat pooling on her head.
I stared at her and it suddenly dawned on me to ask.
"But really, what's up with this whole crushing on Pete thing? I thought you don't need a man."
I've known a lot of people trying to date my best friend dating back since the day I met her but never in our years of friendship did I see or know anyone Lia went out on a date with.
"I don't. But Pete, he's not a man."
She said as she sipped on her water and regarded me.
"He's Superman."
I made a face at my best friend.
Really!?!
Lia!!!
You could go that low at definitions!?!
"I mean, he's a man, but way better that any other man. Do you get me?"
She raised her eyebrows at her and I shook my head.
"No."
I said as I drank my own water to flush out the creepy feeling I had with the way my best friend was describing Pete.
The guy is a jerk!
"Ugh!"
My best friend groaned after some time and I just had to give it straight to her.
"I mean, how would you know it? You don't really know the guy. You met him like what? Five? Eight hours? You don't even know his full name."
I guess that's what most people get wrong about Pete really.
They all think he's nice when the fact is he's a really mean man.
"Yeah, but I know that you know him. He's your cousin and if I base it on how I was sure you're not as crazy as other cray cray, then I just know that my hunch about Pete being kind is right too."
My face fall down with what Lia just said.
"Hahaha. Pete? Nice? You're joking, right?"
If you only knew how he made me into his instant house help, you wouldn't have thought of that about Pete.
