Chapter 4:

I run over and knock on the door of Elliot's house. Elliot's mother opens the door. Her eyes widen as she lets me in. Elliot is already standing by the door. "Mrs. Lorinson. How's your leg?" I ask. "Fine, thank you," she replies. Elliot and his mother stare at the wagon I brought with me. I sigh. "I assume you know why I'm here?" Elliot stares at me with frightful eyes and his mother nods. I turn to Elliot. "You were caught thieving with Mina and Kellan two times which is two offenses. But then you stole a shapeshifting potion from Jocelyn's Countercurses and Antidotes."

His mother gasps and turns to Elliot. "But- Ellie that's big! I thought it was just candy! I never knew-" "Oh no this is the first time he did something like this. Anyways after that you lost the potion Elliot and you didn't tell anyone." I realize Mr. Lorinson has been standing in the hallway this whole time, listening to us. He steps forward and stands next to his wife. He nods at me. Selina is still staring at Elliot in shock and Elliot looks like he wants to hide but at the last second he steels himself.

Is it just me or does he look a bit like Jax? With his blond, curly hair I'd say he does. But his hair is the middle of curls and waves and he has baby blue eyes instead of the stunning violet I'm used to. Jax's eyes are so enchanting, I could stare at them for days. I mentally smack myself. No thinking about Jax on duty Gilly! Right.

I stand up a bit straighter and say, "Elliot, I'm afraid this is your third offense. You know what that means." Elliot's eyes widen. "No way! You can't do that!" I ignore his remark, "I can actually Elliot and I have to. Elliot, you are sentenced to Fairy Tale Reform School." I hand over a piece of paper to his parents, who look hesitant.

"It's for his own good," I assure them. They take one look at the paper then at me. Selina takes a deep breath and Helios takes a quill. Me and Elliot watch as they sign the paper then hand it to me. "Thank you" I say and they nod. Elliot grimaces at the paper. "Goodbye Elliot" his father says to him sadly. "Goodbye Ellie! This will be good for you!" His mother says and I grab his arm and drag him. "Goodbye!" Elliot says.

He turns to me. "I can walk." I loosen my grip on his hand but don't completely let go. Elliot seems to understand that's all I will do. We both walk back to the wagon and Elliot climbs into it. "Mina? Kellan?" he asks. They hug him. "Elliot!" He hugs them back. "We'll get through this," he assures them. The twins grin at their friend then glare at me.

And that is the difference between Hansel and Gretel and Mina and Kellan. Hansel and Gretel were rotten candy stealing, bullies. But Mina and Kellan, though they hated me like the original evil twins, seemed to actually be true friends and at least they were not bullies but I still didn't like how they hated me. But then again, I am the police chief.

Since they're always getting into trouble, we would be sworn enemies. I did hate Pete even though I helped him occasionally. I wonder how my other friends were sentenced. In fact I wonder how Jax was sentenced. I never did get that story out of him. Gilly! You're on duty! Right.

Both Alin and I go sit in the front, and we take the three kids to the reform school. "Go on" I prompt them in. "Headmistress Flora will be waiting for you in her office. Oh! And don't disrespect the mirror!" I exclaim. The three look at me weirdly. "The mirror?" "Yes, the mirror!" I exclaim. Kellan turns to Mina and mouths 'she's lost her mind'. Humph. I know what I'm talking about.

Me and Alin turn around and walk towards the wagon. "And try not to get on the Headmistress's bad side. Make it hard on her, and she'll make things doubly harder on you. She doesn't like it when students step out of line, especially during the first few months. Good luck! You'll need it!" I say over my shoulder. Me and Alin get on our horses, the wagon right behind us. Now that we've sentenced them, we can go to the next house, sentencing the next person. Elise.
