Ghostinnit’s POV

After I apologized for making Ranboo cry, the two looked at each other. Ghostbur had a face of innocent concern, while Ranboo’s seemed solemn and worried. I tilted my head at the sudden change in atmosphere, wondering what I had said to cause it. I was about to apologize for it when Ghostbur took my hands in his own again and said, “There’s no need to apologize for something you can’t control, silly!”

“Are you sure, you seemed so excited about the blue and I don’t like it, and-”

“Of course I’m sure. You’re ten times more important than blue, so if it doesn’t make you happy then don’t use it! I don’t want you to feel sad!”

I smiled at Ghostbur’s kind words, feeling hot tears start to well up in my eyes. Ghostbur gasped. “Don’t cry! Have some- wait. No. This is going to take a bit of getting used to!” Ghostbur exclaimed. He then gave me a wide smile and wiped the tears from my eyes. I looked at my tears on his fingers, realizing they were lava as well. My thoughts were then interrupted by Ranboo. “So… do you remember anything from when you were alive?” I froze for a moment before answering. “Yes… When you first said my old name some stuff came back to me, but I don't want to think about it. Whenever I do I get this burning feeling in and on my chest, then in my throat, then I start to cough up lava…”

“Oh.” Ranboo said shortly. “Hey I have an idea!” Ghostbur exclaimed then rushed off into the next room. I peered into the doorway, seeing him rummage around in some chests in what looked like a library before he took out two books and ran back in this room. “Ok so you don’t remember your life, right?” Ghostbur asked, clutching the two books. “No, and-” “Neither do I!” Ghostbur interrupted. “So I was thinking that you could do the same thing I do and keep a memory book! You could write down all the stuff you remember- mainly just the happy stuff of course- and keep track of it in the book! This one’s mine.” Ghostbur excitedly shoved the book into my hands and surprisingly enough, it didn’t burn.

I looked up at him in surprise. “It’s fireproof.” He proudly stated. I then opened up the book, and flipped around the pages for a second to get an idea of what I should do then gently handed it back. Ghostbur then handed me mine. I opened it up and titled it: “Things I Remember, By Big T.” Wait, Big T? Why did I sign it ‘Big T’? I erased the strange name and replaced it with ‘Ghostinnit’. On a passing thought I wrote down the weird name as something I remembered.

I then closed the book and tucked it away in my inventory. I didn’t really want to remember things right now, so I made a mental note to do it later. “Thank you Ghostbur, I’ll make sure to write down everything I can!” I said to him. He gave me a big grin, and I tried to return it. I glanced at Ranboo and suddenly realized that he was staring at me. I looked back for a couple of seconds then shrunk back on the bed. “I-I’m sorry, did I do something wrong? Why are y-you staring a-at me?” I stuttered. Ranboo looked up to gain eye contact, with a questioning look on his face.

“Ghostinnit?” He said.

“Y-yes?”

“Why is your shirt slightly glowing?”

“What?”

“Your shirt. I just noticed it’s slightly glowing. Don’t get me wrong it’s barely noticeable, in fact I’m surprised I noticed at all. But it’s there.”
