Ashley's P.O.V
My head was pounding, and my vision becoming unclear. My head was spinning and my eyes slowly blinked, feeling like there were weights strapped onto them. All the years that I have been without my mum, I always imagined what I would say to her if I ever saw her again, but now that I was sitting in front of her, staring into her dark brown eyes, none of my words seemed to flow out and all this anger rushed through me.
"You just left mum" I said as I pushed the chair I was seated on behind me, holding onto the table with my hands for support.
"I'm sorry darling" She placed her hand on my arm and rubbed it slowly.
I pushed her arm away with force "don't touch me" I stormed out of the shop not bothering to look back. The glass door didn't slam shut because Harry had chased after me.
"Ashley" He said in between breathes, I continued to walk at a fast pace, trying to block out his voice, but my method failed when he grabbed hold of my shoulder and pulled me around to face him.
"Stop running"
"You don't understand, she just left Harry!"
"I don't get it though, you were so happy when I tod you I found her"
"I know. I am. Just every day I imagined what I would say to her when I saw her, that I missed her and love her, now that I saw her, anger is rushing through me, she just left, and all this time she has been fine and never contacted my dad? or me? I'm her daughter" I explained as tears formed in my eyes and I shouted the last part, flinging my hands up in the air and pushing my body forward.
Harry removed his hand that was still seated on my shoulder and moved it into the comfort of his pocket "Sorry" He mumbled, "lets just go back to the apartment"
We walked in silence with a fair share of space in between us, neither one of us daring to look at the other. I didn't mean to go off at Harry, but how would you feel if you hadn't seen your mum for six years and she was fine and never tried to talk to you? Like shit, that's how.
The front door to our apartment flew open and I rushed inside running towards my bedroom and locking the door behind me. I heard Harry walk into the kitchen, since my room was closest to it, and he was scrabbling through the drawers looking for something. I blocked out the sound by placing my hands over my ears and laying on my bed. I sighed. What do I do now? I live in the same town with my mum.
- FLASHBACK -
"Daddy has mum called?"
"Ashley, she's just at a meeting" My dad explained to me as I threw myself face down onto the couch "But I miss her" My 12 year old self explained.
"She's fine" He kissed my forehead and traveled to his room.
I sat on the couch, by the phone, waiting for a call. My mum always called after she would finish her meeting. I never really understood why she went to them but I always looked forward to seeing her walk through the timber door.
I waited all night. I forced myself to keep my eyes open, I only made it until 1:00am, but that's pretty good for a 12 year old. I woke up the next morning with the phone in my hand and my dad pacing up and down the hall, searching each room.
"Dad?" I creaped up on him, causing him to jump in fright
"WHAT!" He snapped, quickly relaxing his face and apologising straight after. He wrapped his arms around my frame and kissed my forehead, "Mum went shops"
