This is that Rusame chapter of a Transmasc Russia and an Enby America, only with Zen and Matthew cause I'm submitting this story specifically to school.

Rain was pouring loudly outside providing nice background noise for Matthew as he read, tapping his fingers against the book. It was pretty boring to him but Zen did ask him to read it, so he was going to power through it for cyr.

He put the book down for what felt like the hundredth time that day. How could Zen stand this sappy romance? It wasn't even gay, so he couldn't relate to any of the characters past the surface level. Matthew sighed and looked at the clock. Only 5 minutes had passed since he had last put it down. Sighing again he stood up and walked out of the room to a specific closet, grabbing one of the jars on the shelf.

Matthew liked to collect jars, he had tiny ones, large ones, a few in weird shapes and many with different objects in them. One, had googly eyes which was fun to shake. Another had a bunch of smooth pebbles he had collected for awhile. Yet one more, was a large jar full of tiny jars. The one he picked up however, was a glitter one. It had glue, water, beads and glitter in it. He smiled as the water squished around, the small air bubbles making extra noise which was nice. He watched as the beads settled and the glitter slowly stopped spinning in the jar. Originally it was for his anger issues but he liked to just shake it and watch the glitter slowly settle. He swirled it around, smiling as the glitter shined and span around the jar.

He out it back after several minutes of shaking and watching it, pulling out another very special one. He opened it and started to count the money. 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 150, 155, 157. Only 157 dollars. Matthew sighed. If money wasn't so tight he would have more in there. It was his savings jar. He was saving it for Zen. He was planning on giving Zen tickets so cy could see cyke best friend Moss on their birthday. But, he wouldn't have enough saved by the time cyke birthday came around.

Unexpectedly he heard a knock on the door. Anxiety flooded him immediately. Who could it be? Who would want to talk to him without at least texting him first? He put the jar back in the shelf quickly and walked briskly to the door, peaking through the hole. It was his datemate, Zen.

He smiled and opened the door, only for his face to turn into one of worry. "Zen, are you okay?" Zen ran into him without a word and started hugging him tightly. Not only was this extremly out of character, but cy was soaking wet from the rain. Matthew immediately hugged back as he felt Zen almost crying. It was the closest cy had ever gotten to crying in front of him before.

Matthew rubbed Zen's back gently and soothingly. Closing the door so no rain would get in and Zen could warm up. "Shhh. You're safe now Monarch. I love you. It's gonna be alright. You're an amazing Datemate." Matthew whispered more and more words of kindness into Zen's ear, cy slowly calming down and relaxing in Matthew's arms.

"You better now?" Matthew asked. Zen looked up at him, some light mascara trailing from tear marks and rain down cyke face which Matthew wiped off with his thumb.

"Y-yeah." Cyke voice was a bit croaky but still alright.

"I'm glad." Matthew gently kissed cyke forehead. "Let's get you in some fresh clothes and I'll make you some hot cocoa, sound good?" Zen nodded at him and Matthew smiled.

Zen was soon dressed in a large hoodie, cyke binder taken off and left to dry with the rest of cyke clothes. A large cup of hot cocoa in cyke hands, whipped cream on cyke nose.

Matthew cuddled cyr on his lap. "Now that you're comfortable can you tell me what happened?"

Zen nodded and took a long sip of his hot cocoa. "I-It was my family." Matthew nodded, knowing how they could be. "They were just, s-so aggressive. They kept m-m-misgendering m-me. O-on purpose. A-and i-it really. Hu-urt." Zen drank a lot more of cyke hot cocoa. Something must have gone really wrong I'd cy had gone this far today compared to other days. Normally cy would hold out with cyke family.

"Shhh. Take your time. You're safe here Monarch. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Matthew continued to be quiet and soothing. He wanted to bounce his leg badly but he would keep it in as long as Zen was on his lap.

"N-no. I want to tell it. Just, it's hard." Zen held the cup steadily in cyke hand as Matthew nodded. "They-they." Zen gulped. "They said. They said I would always be their daughter, I could never be anything but their daughter, a-and they kicked me out. My-my spare binder is there. I-I'm not allowed back u-until I c-c-can be fe-emale." Zen sniffed and drank more of cyke hot cocoa.

"Hey, we can buy you a new spare binder. No issue. You can still move in with me it's no problem. Fuck your old family, they're losing an amazing person Zen." Matthew nuzzled his face into Zen's neck making cyr laugh a bit.

"Thanks Matt. You always cheer me up. Thanks for existing."

"Of course Monarch. I'll always be by your side."
