Victoria POV:
My mood had been ever worsening as a stood in Elijah's room passing back and forth like a caged tiger. How could this have happened to me when I was so careful? What did Esther have to gain from turning me into a mortal again? Sure,y not the love and support of her children. If not all of them I knew at least Elijah and Kol would resent her for turning me into a weak defenseless human. "You're going to walk right through the floor if you keep pacing like that." Kol remarked from where he sat on the edge of the bed. "What do you intend to do? If you stay here you'll be found out."
"I'm not safer anywhere else, Kol." I shouted, my nerves were ablaze as I thought of all the enemies I had ,add over the centuries and how they would celebrate the news of my vulnerability. Staying with the Mikaelsons was my safest bet at survival, they would keep away anyone who would harm me. "I have to tell Elijah, I have to do it."
Kol shook his head. "We both know telling Elijah would be a bad idea, if he finds out about your condition you will never see the light of day again because he will lock you in this room for the rest of your life."
"What other options do I have, Kol?" I was on the verge of exploding from the frustration and pressure of what I now faced. "If I leave the protection of your family my enemies will hunt me down and they'll kill me, I no longer possess the power to stop them. I'll be slaughtered."
Kol was silent for a moment as he glanced out the window briefly before speaking up again. "Then make them think you're still a vampire, the only people that know about your condition are you and I, it doesn't leave this room and I'll do what I can to make sure of that. All you have to do is keep quiet. Just don't say anything."
"Someone will figure it out." I insisted, I couldn't lay my fate under the protection of my acting skills to say that was suicide would be an understatement.
Kol shook his head. "Don't think about it, I'll make a phone call to a witch and see what I can do. Nobody is going to outright ask you if you're human so just act as you normally do." He didn't give me an opportunity to argue again as he took his new phone from his pocket and left the room leaving me to wonder how he had a witch's number when he hasn't even been out for two days.
I began to pace again, but my thoughts were soon interrupted as someone opened the door. Kol couldn't have been done that soon so that left one option, I quickly stopped pacing and took a seat in one of the chairs in the room. "Elijah, you're back." I stated as he came in the door, shutting it behind him. He didn't say anything as he went over to the closet and removed his suit jacket, discarding it on the floor and grabbing another one. "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing important, Victoria." He replied and I couldn't help the slight tinge of annoyance I felt, but I suppressed it as best as I could. "What have you been up to today?"
Come on Victoria, you can do this. "I've just been around the house, I talked to Kol a bit and I saw Finn earlier but he left somewhere a while ago." I replied, trying my best to not let anything slip. Elijah turned and nodded, then walked back over to the door. "Are you going somewhere?"
"I'll be back in a minute, Victoria." He replied simply which only served to fuel my annoyance, he never acted like this towards me. Elijah told me everything, there was something wrong with him and I wanted to know what it was. "Just stay here."
He opened the door but I stopped him before he could walk out. "You've been here for all of ten seconds, you didn't even greet me." I knew this was going to lead to a pointless argument but as usual my curiosity and annoyance got the better of me. "You can't even listen for one minute to anything I have to say? You just expect me to stay here again and wait for you? I have a sister who's probably worrying about me since your sister dragged me out this morning, if you're not going to talk to me I'll go back there and see you at seven."
