Rose:

He led me into the kitchen. As we reached the closed door, he kissed me. His lips were soft and gentle and it was so different to the kisses he normally gives me. I relaxed and kissed him back.
He pulled away way too soon, a smile on his lips as he looked at me. "Princess" he spoke softly "close your eyes." I was confused and it must have shown on my face because he stroked my cheek gently saying "it's okay you'll be okay."
I shut my eyes carefully, wondering what on Earth he was doing. I felt his hand, insistent on my shoulder while the other one covered my eyes again. He walked me forwards gently and I could feel the heat of the new room on my face.
He let me go and his voice tickled my ear as he whispered quietly "open your eyes princess." I did and took a deep breath at the view in front of me. It was so pretty. I glanced at him, overwhelmed by the love that I knew had propelled him to make this.
The smile on his face was nervous, a kind of look I had never seen. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him. My head rested gently on his chest as I whispered to him "this is beautiful baby. Thank you! I love you."
"I love you too princess. I'm glad you like it. Do you want to eat now?"
I smiled up at him and walked over to the seat but before I could pull it out to sit on it, he was there. With a gesture similar to sit down, a smile etched itself on my face. He was being such a gentleman. I sat down and looked at the table in front of me. He had put confetti around and two beautiful candles lit up the entire table. I felt a light kiss on the top of my head just before he walked away.
He sat down opposite me. His face looked even more gorgeous in the candlelight and I smiled as I watched him there. "Darling the main meal will be ready in a minute but these first okay?"
Okay this wasn't everything?! I don't think there could be a person who is more perfect than my PJ. I picked at different things he laid out. There was a lovely salad and some spring rolls and buffet plates with dipping sauces. I looked over at him and noticed he was getting up.
"Where you going?" I probably sounded clingy but I was confused and at that moment didn't care. He seemed amused by this however.
"Princess the foods in the oven I can't burn it. Don't you worry I'll be back." And he was carrying two plates full of my favourite meal. The creamy cheese sauce was steaming and I could see the sausages all cut up in it. I've only ever made this once with him and it has always been my favourite. I admire the fact he remembered that. He placed the plate down in front of me with a smile as he returned to his seat with the other.
"Eat up princess" his voice is upbeat and happy and reflects my emotions perfectly. So I do. It's perfect. The sauce is the perfect creaminess, everything cooked to the perfect level.
"What triggered this?" I ask the question that's been on my mind since he took me into the kitchen. He looks disappointed. I knew he thought I didn't like it. "I love it but it was a surprise."
"Now darling does a guy have to have a reason to spoil his girl..." he pauses for a second "especially when his girl is the most beautiful, perfect girl in the world. Princess I love you I know I told you earlier but I was going to tell you now. You really are my world. My life without you was incomplete. I was always searching for that special someone who made it worth living. I found that in you."
I look at him. He can't be serious. That's was so sweet. I know I'm blushing bright red and I can feel my eyes watering. He gets up and walks around to me. He holds my hand and gets down on one knee. Wait no this can't be happening!
"I was going to do this after dinner princess. I know it's too soon to propose to you but I'm determined that me and you stay together for ever and that one day I will propose to you. So in the meantime, will you accept this promise ring? And with it the promise, that no matter what I will fight for us and that one day when it's right I will replace that ring with an engagement ring and then a wedding ring. That with it comes a promise that I will grow old with you. That I will do my best to make you smile your beautiful smile all the time. And that one day if you wish, we will raise a family together." His eyes were watering at this point with the intensity of his feelings and I was sobbing with happiness. "So do you accept this ring?"
I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him to a standing. I placed my hand in his and sobbing said "of course baby of course I do. I love you so much!" He placed the ring on my finger. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. We both were crying and we could taste the tears in the kiss.
"Princess there's still more to the little dinner I've made" he whispered against my lips. "I made chocolate pudding." He chuckles lightly as I smile at him. I sit back down and so does he. The emotions we're both feeling hang in the air and his eyes hold mine the entire time. I smile at him as I finish my chocolate pudding. He stands up and starts clearing up.
I get up too and start to help. He hugs me from behind as I start washing some of the dishes. He quickly walks away to start putting dishes away. I want this forever. This casual way we interact with each other.
"Darling" his voice interrupts my thoughts "come on it's getting late. It's all tidy enough."
My brief glance around the previously messy kitchen confirms what he says so I take his hand and he walks with me up to bed. As I curl up in his arms, I believe nothing could break this blissful dream I've been living in for the last few months...
