third year,
who's the dark lord?
╚═══════════════╝

Aimee had gone over the possible reasons that Evan's father wouldn't want them to be together. She thought his father liked her, 'did I say or do something that he did approve of?' she questioned. She tried to confront Evan, she waited in the common room longer before going to breakfast, but he never showed.

She sat through her classes, he didn't attend any of his classes, it wasn't rare that he didn't attend some classes. Deep down she knew he was avoiding her, she sat through her final class having some idea of where to look for him.

She wanted to talk to Evan, just to clear things up, if he really didn't want to break up with her she had to know why he did. They were having such a great time together and she wanted to know what made him decide to leave.

She searched all over the castle the usual places, the training grounds, quidditch practise. She even tried the duelling club, thinking he might have gone to blow off some steam. She then tried Hogsmeade, she immediately walked into the Hog's Head Inn looking around.

"Ahh, I didn't expect to see you here Aimee, would you like a drink?" Aberforth asked

"No right now, I'm looking for someone, a third-year, Slytherin boy, he has brown hair, just a bit taller than me,"

"I haven't seen anyone that fits that description here, I'm afraid," he told her, she nodded

"Okay, well thank you anyway, I'll keep looking,"

When she couldn't find him anywhere, she remembered their place. Aimee hurried to the old willow tree hoping that he would be there. She remembers he went there to clear his thoughts or when he wanted to be alone. She raced up the hill when she reached the top she saw Evan laying on the floor.

"Hey you," Aimee said, walking over to him

"What are you-

"Regulus told me about your father," she sat next to him

"Last time I tell him anything," he muttered

"Why didn't you just be honest with me?"

"I thought it would be easier if you were mad at me, that's why I called you a blood traitor," he began, looking down at his lap, "it's not that my dad doesn't like you, he does, that's why he wants you to stay away from our family,"

"I don't understand," he sighed

"There's this wizard, my father says they call him the dark lord-

"D.L?" she mumbled

"What?"

"Nothing, go on,"

"Anyway, he has this idea of a more pureblooded society-

"How does he plan to do that?" Evan shrugged his shoulders,

"Point is my father doesn't want you to be in harm's way he knows I care about you, he told me 'son, if you truly care for her then you need to let her go,' he thinks you'll be safer," she felt a tear roll down her cheek, he wiped her tear

"You know, Evan you are a good person," she said, resting her head on his shoulder, he rested his head on hers "can we at least still be friends?"

"Yeah, can I ask you something first before we're back being friends,"

"Of course, anything,"

"Can I kiss you one last time?" she smiled at him, she stood up, holding his hands, he pressed his lips against her, holding her as close he knew this would be the last time he got to hold her like this. He pulled away, resting his forehead against hers, his eyes flicked over to the carving in the tree, she glanced at it too.

"It'll always be our place," she hugged him tightly, "I have to go, see my brother about something, I'll see you later?"

"Yeah, I'll see you later," he smiled at her as she hurried back down the hill.

She thought about the letter her mother received that was signed by D.L 'could that person have been the Dark Lord?' she needed to talk to Daniel he seemed to get nervous when she mention D.L to him. Her brothers were keeping things from her. Why? She wasn't unsure.

"Who's the Dark Lord?" she asked as she walked into Daniel's room, he hurried to his door checking if anyone heard her.

"Where did you hear that?"

"My friend, his dad knows him I think," he paced around the room, "who is he? Danny,"

"Alright, just please swear to me you won't tell mother or our dad,"

"You want me to keep this from dad?"

"Yes, I'll tell you everything but our parents can't know," She nodded, he took a deep breath, before explaining "There's a dark wizard, he plans to rid the world of anything he deems impure, like blood traitors, muggleborn, even half-bloods, he has this idea of a pureblooded wizarding society,"

"That wouldn't work, too many purebloods are related one way or another,"

"Exactly, it wouldn't work, I think he'll be open to half-bloods if they value the same views as he does,"

"Why can't I mention it to dad, I understand why I can't tell mother,"

"Because Charlie has been fighting against him, along with a few other wizards if mother were to find out she'd surely put a stop to it if dad knew there would be a risk of mother finding out,"

"Is that why Charlie doesn't visit me as much?" Daniel nodded

"Theo and Jake plan to join him too after they graduate this year,"

She couldn't believe what her brothers knew, she couldn't mention to Danny that their mother had made arrangements with someone she referred to as My Lord. Though now that she knew about what her brothers were up to she wanted to help.

She was going to help.
