"Everything that you've been doing... the extra reading, the summer school, saving up for the bike, even though it scares me half to death... honey, I just didn't wanna disrupt a good rhythm."
Scott shook his head, turning to his mom fully. "It's not gonna stop. I-I'm gonna be better this year. A better student, a better son, a better friend, a better everything. I promise." Melissa looked at Scott for a few seconds, trying to catch him in a lie before nodding her head. "Okay. Stephanie can show you to his room if he isn't already in surgery."
Scott nodded, sending his mom a smile. "Thank you." He turned to Stephanie who nodded her head to the elevators. "Let's go."
As soon as they were both in the elevator, Stephanie clicked the button for the second floor. The elevator doors started to close before a walking stick stopped them. Scott jumped to help open the door as the man walked in.
"Would you hit the button for the second floor, please?" The man asked and Stephanie smiled, nodding her head. "Yeah." She reclicked the button and the man smiled. "Thank you, Sweetheart." He sang and Stephanie let out a hum.
When the doors to the second floor opened, Scott and Stephanie waited for the man to walk out first but he instead stayed where he was. "You wouldn't mind helping me out for a second, would you?" Before Stephanie could even answer, the man placed his hand on Stephanies elbow, making her clear her throat. "Um... sure." She turned to Scott and nodded in the direction of Isaac's room. "215." Scott nodded, running down the hall as Stephanie turned to the man beside her. "Where do you need to go?"
"Room 230, please." The man answered and Stephanie nodded her head, walking down the hall, immediately knowing where to go from her mom working here.
Stephanie turned down one of the last hallways with the man just as her mother did. Sabrina chuckled, being slightly startled by her daughter. "Oh, hey pumpkin. You here to see Isaac?" Stephanie nodded, turning to the man beside her. "I was just gonna help this man to room 230 and then I'd head over."
Sabrina shook her head at Stephanie's words. "Oh, I can take him. You go check on Isaac." Stephanie nodded as the man turned in her direction. "Thank you for helping me..." "Stephanie." The girl replied, noticing he was trying to realize her name. The man instantly smiled, nodding. "Thank you, Stephanie." The man said.
Sabrina took a small step closer to the man. "Sir? I'm Dr. Saticoy but you can call me Sabrina. I can take you to the room you needed to go to." The man instantly smiled, turning into the direction Sabrina was. "Thank you." He reached out for her arm, Sabrina helped him grab her arm before leading him to the room he needed to go to.
As soon as the two rounded the corner, Stephanie ran down the hall towards Isaac's room, hoping to find him and Scott.
Stephanie took a sharp turn down one of the hallways and came face to face with Scott. Stephanie tried to catch her breath as the elevator doors dinged. She and Scott turned their heads and saw a man dressed as a nurse wheeling Isaac. He lifted up his hand to wave tauntingly, showing off his werewolf claws.
The two immediately started running towards the elevator as the doors closed. Stephanie knew she wasn't fast enough to make it and stopped running. She shot her arms out and stopped the doors from closing all the way, giving Scott enough time to get in before she dropped her arms, the doors closing.
She ran down the stairs of the hospital, mindlessly running to the elevators where Derek stood, waiting for the doors to open.
When the doors did open, Stephanie quickly grabbed Isaac's wheelchair, wheeling him away from Scott and the other werewolf as the stranger growled. "I'm an Alpha."
