The next morning Meredith pushed herself up out of bed and silenced her alarm so it wouldn't disturb Derek. She stumbled into the bathroom and flipped on the shower, she stood under the spray of the water, feeling her muscles relax under the warm water. Eventually, she got of the shower and went into the room to grab her clothes for the day, with a towel wrapped around her body.

Walking into the room, she smiled to herself, as she saw Derek cuddled into her pillow, his face completely buried in it. She grabbed her clothes and went back in the bathroom to change. When she was eventually ready to leave, she walked back into bedroom and found Derek in the same position. Walking over, she ran her fingers through his hair and whispered gently to him.

"Derek." She gently shook his shoulder and watched as he slowly opened his eyes and eventually, smiled up at her. "Hey, I'm just leaving to go to work. You should stay, sleep. And I will see you when I get home, don't forget to take your painkillers if you need them." She leaned down and pressed a kiss to his forehead and got up to leave before Derek grabbed her hand and pulled back down onto the bed.

He reached up and placed his hand on the back of her neck and pulled her down to kiss her goodbye properly. They pulled apart and smiled at one another.

"I will see you later Mer, have a good day at work." He squeezed her hand and then watched as she left the room. Rolling back over, he buried his face back in her pillow and fell back into a deep sleep.

Meredith was now parked at work and was collecting all her paperwork and shoved into her bag. She picked up her coffee, locked up her car and made her way into the hospital. When she was half way across the car park she heard someone shouting out her name.

"Meredith!" She turned round and was met with Addison who was doing her best to catch up with her, so she stopped and waited until she was at her side. "Hey, how are you?" Addison asked as they fell into step with one another.

"Good, just tired, going to need lots of this today." She said as she helped up her coffee before taking a long sip and smiling at Addison. "I know I've got a busy day today as well so."

Meredith turned and saw Addison staring at her, smirking at her as well.

"Addison has anyone ever told you it's rude to stare, if you want to ask me something then ask." Meredith stated.

"So Derek didn't come home last night and he wasn't at his moms so, I'm guessing he was at, you know." Addison asked as she wiggled her eyebrows at her.

Meredith giggled before taking a sip of coffee and then finally answering. "Yes Addison, he was at mine but nothing happened. We ate then climbed into bed and slept."

Before Addison had the chance to respond, her pages beeped and she shot off to get ready as she waved a quick goodbye to Meredith.

Meredith made her way through the hospital before eventually reaching her office, she unlocked her door and threw her bag down before starting her day. She spent her day replying to emails and answering the phone that didn't stop ringing all day.

When she was sorting through her paperwork, she realised that some of the chiefs had got mixed up so she pushed herself up and made her way to his office. She was then ready to go home and climb into bed, with Derek. She was smiling to herself when she felt her body collide with a solid figure in front of her.

"Oh I'm..." she looked up and was meant with Burke. "Sorry." She smiled awkwardly and tried to get away as he rested his hand on the top of her arm. It was clear to anyone that she was uncomfortable.

"Meredith, how are we today?" He smiled down at her and ran his hand up and down her arm.

"Busy." She gave him a blunt reply and pulled her body away from his and tried to step around him but he stepped in her way. "Dr Burke if you don't mind I really need to get these to the chief. So please move." She forced a grin towards him before quickly side stepping him and continuing on with her journey. She refused to let any man stop her from doing her job.
