a/n: holyyyy crapppp guysss im so sorry i havent updated in days😫😫😫 part of the reason was i rly struggled with this chapter and had no clue what to write (sorry if that comes across in my writing, i think/hope i picked it up by the end...?). anyway at least it is done now, i wish i could do another tomorrow but my chapters are so long now and take so much time (and its easter lol) plus ive literally done no hw/studying over my break lol. (oh also i broke 200,000 words this chapter yay!) ok i dont own the coverart enjoy:

I woke up first, making sure to get Iwaizumi up right after. I was pretty slow in the morning and would usually lay in bed for a while before even thinking of getting up, but today was different.

Iwaizumi and I got ready together in the bathroom, we were so close I didn't mind and neither did he really. We didn't say anything to each other though, the mood heavy and somber.

"You wanna drive or should I?" I asked finally as we finished getting dressed. Iwaizumi had chosen a pair of dark dress pants with a black shirt instead, I hope I wasn't overdressed?

Iwaizumi paused before murmuring, "I'll drive. We better hurry though, we should leave soon if we wanna get there early for Suga." I nodded numbly as we trudged downstairs to have a quick breakfast. Mrs. Iwaizumi had made us something, she looked at us kindly as she handed it to us, not saying anything either.

"Alright, let's head out." Iwaizumi said, standing up. I followed him to the door where his mom hugged and kissed his cheek (and then did the same to me). His dad had gotten up too and waved, putting a hand on his wife's shoulder as we went out the door.

The car ride was mostly silent. At some point I remarked, "I still can't believe they're having the service so soon after her death." If I understood correctly, the funeral service would be held first with an open viewing (I thought that was what a wake was for, but then again, I really didn't understand funerals). Afterwards, they would bury her in the graveyard nearby, and then that would be that.

"Me neither." Iwaizumi muttered, both of us probably thinking how sudden it all was, especially for those close to Sora, and even more so Suga. Three days...god, three days and everything had changed so much...

Iwaizumi and I arrived a bit early, just as intended. The service was being held at a church, so we parked in the lot nearby and texted Suga as we walked up to the front. He came out to greet us, looking surprisingly calm.

"Hey," he said softly, almost smiling at us but not quite. I was shocked to find no hint or evidence of tears anywhere on his face. He looked...stable.

"Hey," Iwaizumi said back. I nodded, trying to stop myself from reaching out and taking Suga's hand. He took a shakily breath before saying, "Thank you for coming today, I really appreciate it."

"Of course." I responded tightly. We followed Suga in after getting programs and went to sit up near the front. A few people were already there, I recognized the Fujimuras talking to some people on the other side of the room...actually...I think I recognized them as some of the police officers who had been at the house a few days ago.

As we neared the seats, I saw a few other people up by the casket at the front. "You can go...pay your respects if you want. I already did, but–I'll be here." Iwaizumi and I looked at each other and silently agreed to go up to the front as Suga sat down. We approached just as two other people were leaving.

Sora was...I don't even know how to describe her...she looked so different, so devoid of all the life and brightness that animated her face just days ago. She was also very beautiful, hauntingly so. Her usually tan skin was very pale now, which sharply contrasted her pretty dark hair. She had a very nice light blue dress on as well. I wonder what she would've looked like in that dress, at a party, or graduation, dancing lightly to the music, her hair swaying–
