I had wayyyy too much fun writing this bit I love the Holmes family Christmas scenes sooo much they're just too funny

Y/N's P.O.V.

"Oh, dear God. It's only 2 o'clock." Mycroft muttered, his head in his hands.
"It's been Christmas Day for at least a week now. How can it only be 2 o'clock? I am in agony."

"You're being a drama queen, dear." I smirked as I continued to help Mrs. Holmes with the dinner.
The older Holmes brother glared at me as I moved past him.

"Mikey, is this your laptop?" Mrs. Holmes asked.

"Upon which depends the security of the free world, yes. And you've got potatoes on it." He replied bitterly and Sherlock rolled his eyes.

"Well you shouldn't leave it lying around if it's so important." She shot back.

"Why are we doing this? We never do this." Mycroft stressed.

"We are here because Sherlock is home from the hospital and we are all very happy." His mother glared at him.

"Am I happy, too? I haven't checked." Mycroft muttered and I put my hands on his shoulders.

"Stop being such a Scrooge, Mycroft. Relax. Have a little fun." I smiled at him and he didn't look amused.

"Y/N is right. Behave, Mike." His mother smacked his arm.

"Mycroft is the name you gave me, if you could possibly struggle all the way to the end." He replied and Sherlock gave me a subtle head nod.

"Mrs. Holmes?" I asked, offering her a drink.

"Oh, thank you, dear." She smiled at me.
"Sherlock, your girlfriend is just the sweetest."

"She really isn't. She's actually quite mean." Sherlock muttered, putting down the newspaper and I stuck my tongue out at him.
"See?"

"Y/N Moran is not mean, she is ruthless. I've seen it." Mycroft sighed.

"Oh, stop it you." His mother warned.
"Somebody has put a bullet in my boy and if I ever find out who, I shall turn absolutely monstrous." Mrs. Holmes stated, before picking up a mug.
"Ah, this was for Mary. I'll be back in a minute."

"Tick tock." Sherlock sighed as his mother left the kitchen.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Mycroft asked suspiciously.

"Nothing." I replied simply.

"What are you two up to?" Mycroft asked suspiciously.

"Don't you worry your pretty little head about it, dear." I innocently smiled at him.

"If you ever call me that again, I will personally ensure that you are-"

"Enough of the empty threats, brother." Sherlock sighed, standing up.
"Are you coming outside for a smoke?"

"Usually, I'd say no, but anything to get me away from this personal Hell." Mycroft sighed, standing up. Sherlock stood up too, before coming over and kissing my head lightly. They left the kitchen and I continued preparing the dinner, almost feeling bad that we weren't sticking around to enjoy it.

"Where have those two boys gone now?" Mrs. Holmes asked as she return to the kitchen.

"They went out to get some fresh air, I believe." I smiled at her and she left again, seconds before I head the front door open.

"Are you two smoking?" I laughed quietly, hearing the anger in her tone. I looked out of the kitchen window, seeing Sherlock and Mycroft with their hands behind their backs.
