"Steve! Buckaroo's awake." Tal shouts out.

Sam and Steve come from around the corner, Bucky still groaning.

"Steve." Bucky chokes out.

"Which Bucky am I talking to?"

"Your mom's name was Sarah. You used to wear newspapers in your shoes." The man chuckles.

"Can't read that in a museum."

"Just like that, we're supposed to be cool?" Sam asks.

"I think he's cool. Stop being such a downer Sir Pigeon." Tal says from where she sits on the floor.

"What did I do?" Bucky asks.

"Enough."

"You went all psycho assassin on us. Gotta say though...one day you have to teach me how to fight like that." The girl says with a small smile.

"Hey, I taught you how to fight." Steve turns towards her.

"You fight old school Gramps. Buckaroo knows how to fight like a badass."

Steve rolls her eyes at the girl, but grins.

They turn towards Bucky as he groans. "Oh God, I knew this would happen. Everything Hydra put inside me is still there. All he had to do was say the goddamn words."

"Who was he?"

"I don't know."

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup the doctor did all that just to get ten minutes with you. I need you to do better than 'I don't know'."

Bucky pauses while he thinks. "He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where."

"Why would he need to know that?"

"Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier."

"Oh you've gotta be kidding me. Why can't anything ever be simple?" Talia mutters, rubbing her temples at her growing headache.

"Who were they?" Steve asks.

"Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in Hydra history. And that was before the serum."

"They all turn out like you?" Sam asks.

"Worse."

"Oh this is just great." Tal says as she pushes up off the ground.

"The doctor, could he control them?"

"Enough."

"Said he wanted to see an empire fall."

"With these guys he could do it. They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize. They can take a whole country down in one night, you'd never see them coming."

Talia can't help but think how cool it would be to have those skillsets. But she sighs at the fact that she doesn't.

"This would have been a lot easier a week ago." Sam says.

"If we call Tony—"

"He won't believe us." Tal interrupts.

"Even if he did—"

"Who knows if the Accords would let him help." Sam interrupts.

"We're on our own."

"Maybe not...I know a guy." Sam says.

"Just—you picked the absolute worst getaway car Spangles. Totally not suspicious."

Talia says as she leans on the window of their blue, Volkswagen Beetle. Of all cars, Steve decided to pick the smallest and most random of them all.

She was squished next to the psycho assassin, with Steve driving and Sam in the passenger seat. Talia had zoned out while Steve made a few calls...she didn't understand. If the government wanted to find him so bad couldn't they track his phone?

Maybe his phone was un-trackable or something. It just didn't make sense to the girl.

Talia must have nodded off, because when she opened her eyes they were stopped on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere. Steve was getting out of the car. She sat up and looked out the window, watching as him and Sharon started talking.

Talia turned to her right, taking a good look at the infamous Bucky Barnes.

"Bucky—or James, I don't know if I've earned the nickname yet." She ignores Sam groaning in the front seat, and meets Bucky's gaze as he turns to look at her.

"What kind of metal is it? Your arm I mean. It's definitely not steel...maybe a titanium-alloy type of thing. Not vibranium..."

"It's made of titanium."

"Hmm. Can you feel anything? Like...if I were to electrocute your arm would you feel it?"

"Um...don't do that. I—maybe I'd feel it cause you'd be electrocuting me? What kind of a question is that?"

"Ignore her, she's weird." Sam pipes up from the front seat.

"Not weird, merely curious Pigeon." She turns back to the soldier. "I mean like...if I punched you would you feel it?"

Bucky tilts his head to the side. "Maybe a little, if you did it hard enough. I can't feel nearly as much as my real arm."

"Interesting."

Talia turns her attention back to the front where Sharon is opening her trunk.

"Can you move your seat up?" Bucky asks Sam.

"No."

"Do you always have to be such a dick, Sam? This is why Steve's your only friend." She turns to Bucky. "Let's switch, Steve has his seat up a lot further and you're way taller than me."

"Thanks." He mumbles as Talia swiftly climbs over Bucky, and he slides over, successfully swapping seats.

"See," She says in Sam's ear. "Maybe if your nice to people you might make friends." She looks out the window. "Holy shit!"

Talia grins as Steve and Sharon kiss. Sam and Bucky nod in her peripherals. Steve looks over at the car, at the three people, and shakes his head at them. Steve grabs their stuff from Sharon's trunk and places it into the Beetle's minuscule trunk.

When he gets back in the car, Tal beams at him.

"I didn't know you had it in you."
