Singing

I always knew that Annabeth could sing. I just didn't know how much talent she had. You see, Annabeth only sang whenever she thought no one was around. Sometimes I hear her humming a tune, but that's it. That's why I was surprised when I heard singing downstairs.

"We were both young when I first saw you. I close my eyes and the flash back starts. I'm standing there on the balcony in summer air."

Annabeth! She's singing! Oh, man, I can't miss this! I think.

I silently crept down the stairs, making sure that I didn't make a sound.

"See the lights, see the party and ball gowns. See you make your way through the crowd. Say 'hello'. Little did I know......"

I continued down the stairs, almost to the bottom.

"And then you were Romeo, started throwing pebbles. And my daddy said, 'Stay away from Juliet!' And I was crying on the staircase. Begging you, 'Please don't go'. And I said..."

I made it to the bottom and I listen for the next set of lyrics.

"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess. It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes'."

The kitchen! That's where she is!

"So, I sneak out to the garden to see you. We keep quiet because we're dead if they knew. So, close your eyes......escape this town for a little while. Oh, oh."

I slowly and carefully tiptoe over to the kitchen, not making a sound, in fear that my girlfriend would stop singing.

"'Cause you were Romeo- I was a scarlet letter. And my daddy said, 'Stay away from Juliet!' And I was crying on the staircase. Begging you, 'Please don't go'. And I said..."

I make it to the kitchen successfully. I see that Annabeth's flipping pancakes. I lean against the wall near the stairs, where I can see Annabeth in perfect view, but I can retreat back into the shadows if she turns around. I cross my arms over my chest. I'm ready to listen to the rest of the song.

"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all you have to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess. It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes'.

"Romeo, save me, they try to tell me how to feel. This love is difficult, but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess. It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes'. Oh, oh.

"I got tired of waiting. Wondering if you were ever coming around. My faith in you was fading....... When I met you in the outskirts of town, and I said..."

Annabeth flips another pancake and places one on a plate.

"'Romeo, save me, I've been feeling so alone. I keep on waiting and you never come'. Is this in my head? I don't know what to think! He kneels to the ground, pulls out a ring, and says...

"'Marry me, Juliet. You never have to feel alone. I love you, and that's all I really know. I talked to your dad. Go pick out a white dress. It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes'.'

"Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh. 'Cause we were both young when I first saw you..."

Annabeth finishes and turns off the stove.

"I didn't know you liked Taylor Swift." I say. Annabeth jumps. She turns and blushes.
"It was stuck in my head." Annabeth mumbles, turning to the plates. She picks them up and sets the plates on the table. She sits down and so do I. I eat a bite and chew and swallow.

"But, seriously, you have a pretty voice." I say to her with a lopsided grin. Annabeth whispers a 'thank you' and we return to eating.

(A/N: I don't own Taylor Swift's 'Love Story', nor will I ever. Comments and votes=MORE CHAPTERS!)
