We reach this place called the Griffith observatory. I wonder why he would bring me to a space observatory. As soon as we get out of the car, Asher starts hurrying up and says, "Come on, quick!", and starts running at a slow pace for me to to catch up, towards the building.
"Wait what for?", I'm so confused but i start running behind him. He stretches his hand out in the back and I take it and we both are running like two crazy kids with an adrenaline rush, finding our way through pools of people. We run inside the building and to the stairs then up to the terrace. I'm so breathless right now but the football guy with me isn't at all. I'm bending down, hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath.
Between my breaths, I manage to ask, "So..what the hell was..all of this for?"
He smiles and says, "Look up."
I come into an upright standing position and there lies the most magnificent view of sunset right in front of us, spreading it's reddish orange aura to as far as the eye can see, over this huge city.
"Wow.." That's all that comes out of my mouth right now.
"Amazing right?", Asher says.
"More than that"
I walk towards the railings so that I feel there's nothing in between the sunset and me, Asher follows me and we stand side by side now. I suddenly hear a click and turn to my right to see Asher just clicked a picture of me on what looks like to be a pretty expensive camera.
"You are into photography too now?", I ask him being amazed.
"Yep, you missed out this detail while researching about me huh?"
"I never resear-..okay you know what, you won't listen, it's of no use for me to justify"
We both laugh and I ask him to show me the picture.
"Not so soon, Mack."
"Wait what? Let me see the picture c'mon"
"Some other day maybe"
"Why?"
"I have my reasons. Don't worry I will show them to you one day and in case you are worried, you look amazing."
Damn. I know I'm blushing but I'm trying so hard to not to. No Mahek, focus. Stop feeling whatever you think you are. I just say "Thanks i guess?" and turn towards the sunset.
As I'm trying to inculcate the sunset's beauty within me, I find a hand, sliding through my right hand and electricity sparks through me as Asher does that. He is staring at the sun too but his hands are acting up definitely. Now I don't have much experience with guys so I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I don't want his hand to go away but I cannot do this right now, I should be focusing on studying and scoring grades and thinking of all of this makes my palms go sweaty due to which he senses I'm nervous and let's my hand go, which makes me kind of sad now but it's for the best.
The sun starts to disappear. And I ask him whether we should leave now. He says, "This location is supposed to give one of the best night views of LA, just a few minutes more. We can go when the sun's completely down and the shiny lights of the buildings of the city are up."
"Alright"
We grab a seat in two of the chairs and I go through his camera roll, the one without my picture because he took that. He can actually be a pretty decent photographer, not that I'm any more knowledgeable but I do think he could use some professional tips.
There are photos from his previous school's football games, his family photo- his whole family seems to have the good looking genes, some party photos again from the previous school and the way they have been taken, with different shades of lighting and all makes them even better.
