"If I see a single scratch
on her when I come back,
I'll scrape your scalp off"---
Levi's POV
"Lance Corporal, the cadets on the West Corridor are waiting for you"
Just when Hanji and her troops left, a soldier saluted loudly before reporting. I didn't reply to him and only proceeded quietly to the West Corridor, but I heard a loud scream coming from one of the rooms here
The lady's voice was immediately recognizable, so I left my tracks and went towards the noisy room. I quietly twisted the doorknob and walked inside the room unnoticed
No one inside seemed to realize that the door opened, so I leaned on the wall and watched. The doctor stood up and made several, unexplainable hand gestures
What an idiot I scoffed at the sight of the woman Nick was enraging
I continued to watch as she kept yelling insults and curses to Nick, for I assumed was about him assuming she was an 18 yr old girl
As much as it seemed impossible for her abilities, Dr. Vien actually did seem like a young girl from first glance. Vien's smile was very innocent looking, her face rarely had any wrinkles for a 29 yr old, and she was just too insouciant for one with many life experiences
I was about to mention that to her, but I'd rather not try it anymore
We both are each other's polar opposites, and I hugely dislike loud people. But the doctor understands my actions so well, she lightens my mood, and she puts so much effort in my well-being, that she'd be the least annoying brat if I had no choice but to be around someone
Vien was the only person who'd somehow predict my actions, or what I'd say, that it made me trust her as a comrade deeply. I don't even have to order her around that she'd already get her duties done the moment she was assigned to it
Like everyone, it surprised me how I got to trust someone so quickly
Flashback
"Oi Levi" Hanji spoke, we were called to wait for Erwin at his office
I groaned "What?"
"Is there something about you and Dr. Vien that I don't know about?"
"What are you talking about?"
Hanji laughed, then started to grin widely as she turned to me "C'mon Levi, isn't it obvious that she's no ordinary comrade for you? Even I had to spend a whole year in your presence before you started talking to me, you started trusting her with big tasks in the first few months"
I rolled my eyes "What are you getting at? She's just less annoying than you and does her job well"
"Hm, calling each other by your first names?" Hanji giggled in a way that annoyed me "Don't think I don't know you've been ordering Simoun to report her condition daily?"
The way she squinted her eyes at me was frustrating me, and she was trying to corner me with her dumb suspicions. I glared at Hanji harshly in hopes of pushing her away
"It was Erwin's orders for Simoun and Xavier so please shut up"
She laughed, "Was it Erwin's order to call each other by your first names as well? Am I right, Levi?"
"I swear," I closed my eyes in frustration "We see each other often because we're squad mates, also the formalities can get really annoying"
"Mhm, right" She drawled "Well I just wanted to know, don't get me"
End of Flashback
I grabbed Vien's jacket collar from behind, as she was trying to beat the priest from frustration. Vien didn't notice that I entered so I thought she'd glance at me, but she was too focused on Nick. Pathetic
My eyes trail up to the pastor and it seemed like he was intimidated by the doctor. I averted back to Vien
"This is why I can't leave you alone with this man. You couldn't even sit still for the first twenty minutes"
It stung when her nails dug deep on my skin whilst trying to escape, but I only held onto her tighter. I shook my head at her little actions
"Let me go!! I'm showing this hag the difference of an 18 year old and his murderer!" Vien yelled
Nick quickly lifted his feet from the ground and stuck close to the wall. He quivered "W-why's she so angry about what I said? She's gone mad"
Vien's annoyance on my grip was clearly exuded by the way she tried to yank my hand. But if I'd let her go then she'd disregard my orders and most likely injure him severely, or if not, kill him directly
It's because this brat always do what she says. Even if it was about killing somebody right on the spot
After a minute, she already gave up and stopped dragging her feet. My eyes met hers when Vien glanced at me with a mad expression. I raised a brow and she spoke loudly
"Okay I give up!" She punched my arm "Now let my arm go already!"
I flicked my eyes down to the area she punched, and scoffed. It hurt a bit when it became red, but I didn't show any emotion when I stated
"Gave up just like that? You should've continued to struggle"
Vien turned to me and crossed her arms "Do I look like a dog to you?"
Her expression made me chuckle inside, but my face didn't change
I stepped closer and wrapped my finger around her collar, before pulling her down to my eye level. At this view, I could only gaze her blue doe eyes of anger and the hair strands that covered her visage
I chuckled "Of course not, the dogs are much more obedient than you"
"Was that meant to insult me?"
"Unlike this lady's naughty mouth, I didn't mean to insult anyone in this room" I subtly smirked after seeing the doctor's reaction, and pushed her shoulder away slowly
The pastor seemingly calmed down when Vien walked away from him, but the same expression came back on his visage when I sat beside him
The girl sat on the corner of the room, and sighed "I'm sorry, it's just that his words insulted me"
I glanced to Nick, and spoke in a monotone voice "You heard that you scum? She doesn't like being called a kid so oblige, unless you wish to die a dog's death. Though I won't be stopping her this time"
When Vien looked away, I took the chance grabbing Nick's collar and whispered with a tone of threat
"Listen faithful hag, you'll be stuck with her for another hour. If I see a single scratch on her when I come back, I will scrape your scalp off"
She later glanced to our direction, so I harshly let go of his collar and stopped glaring before she'd notice
After yanking his face away, I called "Vien, I'll just be at the West Corridor taking care of something. If he acts rash, you can punch him I guess. Just make sure he's alive"
Vien grumpily replied without any eye contact "Understood Captain"
As I walked away from the two, I glared at the shaking priest before leaving. Hopefully the scum would take everything I said seriously
