"Now, let's continue with a story that has a happy ending." James said as he picked up his teacup.

"Yes, please?" Delilah replied.

Catherine was nervous as she stood on the doorstep. Sure, she had gone to plenty of sleepovers in the past but this was completely different. Her crush invited her to this one so you can understand her panic, especially since she didn't know who was there already. It's not like she could act on her feelings anyway.

Catherine is the top student at their high school and is rather popular among the students and teachers. With straight black hair, a soft face, and dark green eyes, she could've been mistaken for a doll. Catherine always tried to meet everyone's expectations, especially her parents. The straight A's and pretty looks practically made her Little Miss Perfect.

'Just calm down, Catherine. It's just a regular sleepover so act normal.' Catherine thought as she finally got the courage to ring the doorbell.

She heard a couple of thuds from inside the house until the door opened to reveal Lucy. She was short compared to Catherine. She had bright red hair that was in a pixie cut, brownish-red eyes and freckles were splattered across her face. Lucy's eyes sparkled as she grabbed Catherine's hand then ran up the stairs. Catherine chuckled as she was being dragged. "Hello to you too, Lucy. You didn't have to drag me."

"I know but I got excited! Everyone else cancelled and I was starting to get worried you would cancel too." Lucy stated, her Irish accent being noticable as always. When they arrived in the red-head's room, Catherine noticed the room didn't change much from the last time she was there. The room itself was of medium size with an array of white, green, and black decorating the room. A faint blush appeared on Catherine's face since she realized they were still holding hands. She slowly yet hesitantly pulled her hand away from Lucy and said, "You know I would never cancel without a good reason, Dummy. Let's get this sleepover started!"

The girls had a wonderful time, even if it was just the two of them. The night was filled with laughter, jokes, and simply just talking with one another. Time flew by quickly as it was now three AM. The girls were sitting on the window seat, Catherine leaning on Lucy's side. Catherine's once straight hair now had small braids here and there since Lucy was playing in her hair.

Catherine was completely mesmerized by Lucy's eyes. It was one of the things that she absolutely adored. The way they would sparkle when she's happy, the spark in her eyes when she's determined, and especially the color that could easily be compared to shimmering red sand dunes. The same can be said about Lucy. While playing in Catherine's hair, Lucy noticed the raven-haired girl's gaze. Lucy frequently complimented the girl's eyes as they always reminded her of the forest.

Both girls were so mesmerized by the other, they didn't even notice that they were slowly moving closer together until their lips connected.

It ended just as quick as it started with Catherine jumping away and speed walking to the stairs without a word. Internally, she was beating herself up as tears pricked the corner of her eyes. She might've just ruined an amazing friendship and she couldn't even imagine her parent's reactions that their Little Miss Perfect isn't really perfect at all. Catherine quickly ran down the stairs, wishing she could rewind and forget. Before she got to the front door, Catherine felt a hand wrap around her wrist which caused her to stop.

When she turned around, Catherine kept her head down as if the floor were the most interesting thing. "I-I'm sorry, it probably grossed you out. I can take rejection a-and you probably want me to leave and-" Catherine stuttered out but was cut off by soft chuckles. Finally looking up, Catherine was not expecting to be met by a pair of soft lips once again.

"I love you too, Dummy."

"Aw, that one was really sweet! I can imagine that one took long." Delilah said with a small smile.

"It was also one of my longest missions since denial can easily delay anything. In this case specifically, it would be romance." James stated as he internally groaned at the memories of the late nights where something didn't go as planned.

"Any questions?"
