Chapter 38:  Oh brother
                          
A/N: I would like to apologize for not updating the story regularly. My brother who was also a nurse just recently died due to Covid.

                          
ELLA'S POV

Omg! I said a bad word. Forgive me Jesus.
                          
Tsk.
                          
After my untimely confession to Gideon I am now hiding from him. I immediately run towards my sanctuary leaving a stunned Gideon in our room.
                          
I am scolding myself on the way to my hide out.
Ella why are you so dumb? You don't need to runaway! It is No big deal! If he don't say it back it is okay! Made him fall in Love with you! Easy peasy!
                          
It is not that easy okay? Are you aware what we look like? We look like a potato!
                          
I look like a lunatic right now. Arguing with myself. I am always arguing with myself so there is nothing new.
                          
I reach my cabin and plop myself on the sofa. 
                          
What should I do? Just this morning I am so excited to tell him that I love him but now I am afraid that he will reject me. I mean I am used to rejection but I don't know why my heart hurts whenever I think about Gideon rejecting me.
                          
I bury my head in one of the throw pillow and scream my frustrations. I remove my glasses first because I don't want to damage them.
                          
I heard a sound coming from the outside and I saw a shadow lingering outside the cabin.
                          
It is Gideon I am sure. It sounds creepy but I know his silhouette.
                          
I shouldn't hide here like a coward. 
                          
I went out of the cabin and approach Gideon. I saw him leaning on one of the trees  legs crossed, arms inside his suit pants and he is looking at the various rocks and leaves on the forest floor.When he heard my foot scrunching the dry leaves
He immediately look up and straighten his posture immediately.
                          
I walk towards him and grab his hands. I guide him back to our room. On the way back he did not say anything or question where am I dragging him. 
                          
We reach our room and let him sit on our bed. I made sure that I lock on our door. I don't want anyone disturbing our conversation. 
                          
I remove my shoes and sat on the bed facing him I cross my legs to be comfortable because I know this conversation will be a long one.
                          
He started to talk but I raise my hand to stop him.
                          
"I'll talk then you'll listen. Okay?"
                          
He nodded.
                          
"You heard me right. I LOVE YOU."
I heard him gasp as if this is the first time he heard me say it.
                          
"I just realize it recently. I know my declaration is anticlimactic.  I did not prepare any gifts or events. You don't need to say it back of course. I understand if-"
                          
He cover my lips with his hand to stop me from talking.
                          
"I love you too."
                          
Stunned. 
                          
First thing I thought.
                          
He is crazy.
                          
The next thing I thought he is just kidding. There is no way that he loves me back and after a few minutes he will just shout "you're punked!"
                          
But I look into his alluring eyes and I can see the truth shining from them. And then the water works starts. 
                          
"Ho-How can you love a person like like me. It doesn't make sense Gideon." I am not a pretty crier I legit have snot coming out of my nose immediately.
