- Dale -

Connor and I went back to our apartment after that heartwarming breakfast, like we just talked about things casually, slightly gone over what happened a few weeks back and made up (which was really good on our part, that had to happen anyways) and just be ourselves. We haven't spent time like this for weeks and it's a good refresher. I can't help but smile in between our small discussions and random topics.

"Seriously those two are so cute! I can't help but fangirl on them." I squealed at the thought of Jace and Hunter. They're like this couple from a date simulator game that I found a while back and... well that's kinda awkward. Jace had some features that made him look like one of the main characters. Same with Hunter, well with his hair and eyes at least.

"Dale, shush! You're embarrassing yourself to everyone." Connor slapped cover my mouth as I struggled to let out more squeals.

I pried so hard to take his hands from my mouth and gasped for more air. "But... But... They're so adorable!" I squealed even more. Connor just managed to shake his head and sighed, defeated. Then continued on walking back up to our apartment. He left me behind, pouting.

"Killer joy." I mumbled, as I tackled him with my arms around his waist. I tiptoed higher to let my head rest on his shoulder as we strolled leisurely. A sudden gust of wind blew in front of us, cold and made me shiver.

"Maybe you should wear something warm next time." He reached over his arm, as he placed them over my shoulders and pulled me closer to his chest.

"I could get used to this all the time." Feeling the warmth of his body over mine. I closed my eyes and paid no attention to the outside world. I was drunk in his warmth.

"C'mon Dale, stop dosing off. We still have to grab your stuff from your parents' house. And don't think of running away." As I attempted to run ahead when Connor finally let go of me. He was fast enough to reach for my arm and gripped it like a motherfucker.

We changed our clothes getting ready for the party but had to stop by my house first to go get my laptop and some books. Sucks that I still had some projects and research to do during this week break. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh I swear academics will kill me. When I made this decision at the beginning, I didn't expect this to be that hard. Now it's making me think twice.

Connor drove us to my house and as we entered, I could hear Mum screaming down. Yep I was in serious trouble.

"Dale Hart! How dare you sneak out of our house late at night through your window! You could have seriously injured yourself! Also next time, you should have asked permission and we'll let you go anyways! Jeez, you might think that we're treating you like a princess but you're not! Also you're an adult already Dale! You don't have to ask---"

Dad appeared from Mum's behind covering her mouth as she tried to flail her arms aimlessly. He huffed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Can you pleas be quiet for a while. But like your mum said Dale, don't do anything risky. Just use the door next time."

I saw Mum rolling her eyes at Dad. Both walked inside our house and me and Connor followed behind. As we entered, we noticed Keri sitting at the bottom of the stairs. "Hey Dale, hey Connor." She greeted, an obvious smirk forming.

"Way to push me off the bus Keri. Sly bitch." I grumbled, rolling my eyes at her. She snickered as she followed, her foot stomped on each step.

"What do you want me to say to our parents last night? They actually noticed you jumping off your window but didn't say a word. Dad looked outside and saw Connor was standing outside."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Thanks sis." I waved at her. Me and Connor went inside my room and grabbed my backpack and some supplies and clothes.

--- --- ---

"Dale! Connor!" May screamed at the top of her lungs as she saw us walking down the street. "C'mon let's get you guys your wristbands." There was a long queue at one end of the street. The whole party stretched across two blocks, mainly from the rugby field towards the next one. It was massive enough to hold thousands of students attending university.

When it was our turn to register and obtain our wristbands, Connor opted for a pink one. We all gave him a surprised look. " What? I'll be sober driving you guys later. Also I want Dale to enjoy. Pretty sure you guys know how he deals with alcohol." He winked at me, knowing how much of a lightweight I was. May, Justin and nodded altogether.

There were kiosks around the rugby field and at the center was a makeshift stage for the band. They were playing all sorts of music from different genres. May handed me a red cup full of God knows what was in it. I raised an eyebrow at her but she only gestured me to drink. I looked over at Connor who was holding a can of Monster.

"You don't have to ask permission Dale. I'll take care of you." He leaned down and kissed my cheek. I took a huge swig from my cup and nearly choked and threw up on how disgusting it was.

"Okay, that caught me by surprise." I earned lots of laughter from my group. But that didn't stop me. I checked the clock so I can keep track of the time. It was only half past 2 in the afternoon and we were barely starting. It's gonna be a long day of drinking. I took another gulp from my cup and passed it to May for another refill. Now I'm starting to get buzzed.

"Hey guys!!" Jace jumped out of nowhere, still holding hands with Hunter.

"Ahh my new favourite couple!" I squealed once more. I spread my arms wide and tried to hug Jace and Hunter at the same time.

"Woah easy there Dale. Thought you hate me." Jace giggled.

"Nahhh I forgive you. Just don't touch my Connor. He's mine." I grinned. Jace shook his head and noticed the cup that I was holding nearly spilled on his shirt. I pulled away from them and raised my cup.

"Cheers guys!" I yelled. They raised their drinks and we shared a toast.

--- --- ---

"Alright, I'll see you both later. Take care of May." I heard Connor talking to Justin, who was helping May get out of the car. I could barely pay any attention to them as my head started to throb even more.

"Bye May... Bye Justin..." I mumbled, slurring at my words. I heard the door close behind me and Connor started to drive.

"Can we stop by at Maccas?" I tried to sit up right, but it was definitely the wrong move. I could feel my stomach churning whatever I had inside from lunch. Then again, I already fed the ducks earlier when we left the party.

"Uhmmmm sure." Connor was certainly unsure, but agreed nonetheless. We arrived at Maccas soon after. We got in and was happy to see that the place was not as full as we were expecting.

He ordered some chips and sundae for us to share, with some orange juice specially for me. I almost finished all of the orange juice in one big gulp but felt myself getting dizzy to the weird taste it gave me.

I looked over at Connor, slightly amused, propped his head over his knuckle. "Remember when we first met?"

"Which part? Where I asked you if I could kiss you or the part where Justin and May decided it was good to ditch us?"

"Hmm let's see.." He pretended to think and smiled back at me. "All of it."

"Ahh! Stop that!" I covered my face with the sleeves of my hoodie. I don't know why I did that but I just got embarrassed.

Connor held on to both my hands and pulled them away from my face, revealing his own as it was as close as it could be. "Never." he whispered. He brushed his lips onto mine, then slowly moved in closer, pressing them together.

We both parted our lips and let our tongues dance together. I could taste caramel from his mouth and a bit of saltiness of the chips. You can say it was sweet and salty at the same time and it made me want him more. I don't care what the world would say to us.

"I love you Connor." I said in hushed tone, as I pulled away from his lips.

"I love you too Dale." Then he placed one more kiss to my lips.
