I never thought that I would see a day where bidding bye to Chicago would make me sad and at the same time so happy to see them all after 40 days. When FAb4 visited us I was ecstatic.... but that only lasted till the next morning. 
When I woke up the next morning I was alone in the bed, confused I walked to the bathroom to see him in there but it was empty. I looked around to see every little thing of his nowhere to be found. Frowning I headed down to see them all gathered around in the hall... relief washing through me when I looked at him attending a phone call. 
"What happened.? Why are you all up and ready? Are we going somewhere.?" I asked making them all look at me. Manik said bye to the other person and came towards me.
"Manik has to leave for India. There's a problem. We have to accompany him." Alya informed me and I looked over to see him walking towards me. Tears already pooling in my eyes, before I could stop myself I was already crying making Alya and Mukti reach out to me. Both of them stood back when Manik pulled me in his chest.
"What did I say when we said yes to our marriage, hm??" He whispered in my ears making me sniff in his chest. I am ruining his shirt but I couldn't care any less.
"Baby there are going to be times when I have to leave you even in the middle of night. I received the phone call at 3 in the morning. I had to leave as soon as I could but I didn't.... I couldn't." He said placing a kiss on my forehead, removing tears from my cheeks. "Please don't make it hard as it already is. I cant see you in tears. I cant stand knowing I am causing you this pain." 
"I... I don't want to make you feel bad or guilty. I am sorry...I know you told me this on our roka day but I never thought it was going to be....be this d..difficult." I said sniffling as more tears follow. He kissed my cheeks tightening his hold on me.
"Even I didn't Nandini. I don't want anything more then either taking you with me or staying here with you but we cant baby. We have duties.... both of us. We cant disappoint people who look upon us." He made me understand like a child making me nod at his each and every word. I know and I understand everything but I cannot control my emotions when its him on the other side. "I'll finish all my work as soon as possible so that we can enjoy our wedding and honeymoon. From 1st June I am all yours. We can make our honeymoon as long as you want, okay?"
"Okay."
We both pulled out of our hug and everyone hugged me and Mukti. They didn't want both of us travelling all the way to airport and then back home so they left with the driver. Mukti decided that we will go and spend our day out so that we can stop pouting around.
I still remember how the days went by after that, every Monday and Tuesday I would wait for the door to open and him walking to me with that teasing wink of his. Alas it never happened. He worked day and night to actually complete everything before our wedding. Dad talked to me one day to tell me that Manik had stopped taking any new business deal...he just wanted to complete the ones he already had in his hand. I tried to coax him into working for new projects but who listens to me? Mom, Dad Mukti everyone supported him. Everyone wanted him to have some time off. He only takes one vacation a year that too with his phone and laptop. He is always working so family wanted him to actually stop worrying about work and enjoy the most important days of his life. 
"Everyone has already received their paychecks." Mukti said smirking making me pout. We were going back today. I thought to pay the maid, driver and the guards but Manik Malhotra says he have it all controlled. Of course my parents didn't want him to pay for my expenses but as my parents quote he said "Nandini ka or mera sab uss din humara ho gya tha jab aapne uska haath mere haath mein dia tha." I teased him alot for this because technically my parents didn't give my hand to him but he always say "yet", but as Fab4 say you can never win against Manik Malhotra and I am the luckiest person who would love to lose it to him everyday.
