Betty pov
It's been a few days since Archie and I decide to end our 'friends with benefits' and just stick to the good old platonic friendship. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss him but it's what's best for me right now and for him. He told me he still has feelings for Veronica and I honestly rather not deal with whatever it is he is going through. I've had enough of that in high school and I am far to grown to be fighting over Archie with my high school best friend.
Plus, I got more important things to worry about. Polly is still missing and I have to find her before it's too late. Archie and I haven't talked since our heart to heart at Cheryl's 'key' party and I think that's honestly for the best.
I'm pretty sure he's already slumming it with Veronica anyways since she told that she asked her husband for divorce. It doesn't take a genius to add two and two together.
So for now, I'll just try to discreetly avoid the both of them and I'll use Kevin as my shield.
"Good morning Betty" Kevin greeted walking out of our guest bedroom while I walked out of mine
"Morning Kev. How did you sleep?" I asked kindly as we made our way downstairs for some breakfast before heading out to the school.
"Not that great if I'm being honest" he frowned and I smiled sympathetically while rubbing his back comfortingly.
"I'm sure if you talk to Fangs, he will be more than willing to listen" I suggested encouragingly.
"I don't want to talk to him. I need some space" he said firmly but with hint sadness.
"You're torturing yourself Kev. Just think about it please? The least you could do is talk to Tony, who is the one carrying your child. You owe her an explanation and I'm pretty sure she will want one too" I argued while handing him a cup of coffee which he gladly sipped.
"I know. I've been avoiding her calls this entire week. Spring break gave me the perfect excuse to completely avoid the situation but–" Kev rambled fidgeting with his hands
"But we're back to being high school teachers and you can't avoid her anymore" I finished his thought placing a hand on his.
"Please don't leave my side unless you need to pee" Kev begged dramatically.
"I was gonna ask you the same thing actually" I chuckled drinking my coffee.
"Why?" He asked bewildered.
"I'm trying to avoid Archie and Veronica" I replied shaking by head
Don't tell they—" He suggested not quite finishing his sentence.
"I'm pretty sure Kev" I replied grabbing my car keys.
"But isn't she married?" Kev asked in shock but being very intrigued by the gossip.
"She is but she filed for divorce" I explained and Kev nodded in understanding.
"Still doesn't change the fact that she is married" he pointed out and I shrugged my shoulders carelessly.
"It's Veronica Lodge. She makes her own rules" I replied and Kev agreed while we got in the car.
"Isn't it like...I don't know weird that she is fucking Archie?" Kev said bluntly making me widen my eyes at his choice of words.
"Well yeah if I'm being honest it is kinda weird but we weren't in any sort of relationship Kev and we're all adults here. They can do whatever they want.  Archie and I weren't dating and if Archie wants to be with Veronica in that way, then by all means, he should do that" I said as we pulled up to the  school parking lot.
"It's still messed up. Did Veronica even talk to you about it?" Kev asked as I turned off the car engine.
"uh-no why would she? I'm not even sure if Archie told her about us because like I said Kev, there was no 'us', and it's their life. Maybe Archie and Veronica aren't even together and I'm assuming something that's not even real" I suggested grabbing my purse and keys.
"Oh they are definitely together alright" Kev chuckled dryly pointing behind me. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion before turning by head to follow Kev's stare. I saw Veronica stepping out of Archie's car as Archie stepped out of the driver's seat. As he met Veronica on the passenger's side, Veronica leaned in to peck his lips.
I clenched my jaw before replying with a casual "let's go Kev" as I opened my own door and stepped out.
"Hey B!" Veronica called out sweetly and I gave her a forced smile with a small wave while looking behind me towards Kev who gave me a knowing look.
"Betty" Archie greeted with an awkward smile while clearing his throat uncomfortably.
"Archie" I nodded in acknowledgement before Kev tugged at my arm.
"See you in lunch break" Kev called out dragging me along. He stopped dead in his track as soon as he saw Tony in sight, making me slam my body into his back.
"Ow" I complained ripping my arm from Kev's hold.
"What the hell Kev!" I called out looking at him with a bewildered look.
"You're my best friend Betty Cooper and I would love nothing more than for you to write my eulogy" He called out and I walked around him to try to understand his craziness.
"Kev what are you talki-" I laughed as I met Tony's gaze.
"Ohhhh umm-yeah-I will try to honor your legacy Kev" I patted his back sympathetically waving at Tony who was patiently waiting for Kev at the school entrance.
"I can't do this!" He claimed in panic gripping my arm while I rolled my eyes.
"Yes you can. Plus, if you get it over with now, maybe things won't be so awkward in the lunch room" I encouraged.
"You think so?" He asked hopefully.
"Yeah Kev" I said hesitantly.
"Oh goodness. I am so dead" He said as I dragged him along with me.
"Betty good morning" Tony greeted sweetly with a smile and I greeted her with a side hug.
"Kevin you and I need to talk" Tony said firmly  while Kevin gave me a not so discreet glance for help.
"Betty can't help you this time" Tony added giving me a stern look that said 'do not interfere'. 
"Kev?" I asked regardless of Tony's implied warning.
"It's okay Betty. I'll see you in a bit" He said and I gave him a worried look.
"Go Betty" He smiled weakly and I nodded rubbing Tony's back while whispering 'bye'.
It's our first day back and things are already crazy.
