"When did you become so wise?" He let a little laugh out sniffling.

"I've always been wise, I just never had the guts to speak up my mind," I confessed, as selfish as it may sound, dad was great to me and I was afraid he'd change towards me if I confronted him about Will, "I should've done this years ago, I feel like I just took years of pressure off my shoulders,"

"What changed? Why did you finally told me how you feel?" He asked softly, it was a huge relief that he wasn't mad at me for stepping up.

"I guess I grew up," he gave me a warm smile and sat silent for a minute.

"My little girl turned into a woman, you'll be an amazing mother one day," he rubbed circles on my shoulder with his thumb, "I'll talk to Will as soon as I come back to the office, let's just eat,"

"I'm not hungry anymore," I confessed looking at the salad sitting in front of me.

"Me neither," he chuckled, "Let's go fix our family, then," he took out his wallet and let a generous amount of money on the table before standing up and grabbing Robin's leash.

The drive back to the office was silent, dad was probably trying to figure out what he was going to talk to Will about, I felt really proud of myself for making him open his eyes. When the car stopped at the underground parking we got out of the car walked in the old elevator with Robin sitting between us, he ran his hand through the buttons and pressed the one to the 10th floor.

"Are you going to his office?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, I know he won't come to mine if I ask," he cleared his throat and stood straight, the doors opened and we walked into the loud office filled with cubicles, once people's attention turned to us, the room went dead silent.

"Awkward," I whispered loud enough only for me to hear, but dad got it too.

"That's why I hate walking around the building," he grabbed my arm and whispered in my ear making me laugh a little, everyone in the room was staring at us with wide eyes, "I haven't done this in years,"

"They're terrified," I let dad know since he couldn't see their faces.

"I know," he grinned proudly as we walked through the long marbled floor hall. We stopped in front of Will's office, there was no blind in the glass door anymore so I saw him sitting on the desk with his head on his hands leaning on the desk, he looked stressed.

I knocked on the door and his jaw dropped when he saw dad standing behind me, he nodded for me to open the door and we walked inside the office, "What are you guys doing here?" He pointed at the chairs in front his desk, I grabbed dad's arm and led him to one of the chairs.

"Where's the cane?" I asked and he just shrunk his shoulders, how does he even manage to move around when I'm not in town?, "I'll be outside,"

"You can stay," dad said when I reached the door, the air was extremely tense.

"I'd rather not," I stepped outside and closed the glass door behind me, everyone's attention drifted to me and I just smiled awkwardly, no one was moving, it was a little uncomfortable to be in the middle of the hall with all the stares.

I started walking around the hall and saw the girl that was with Will in his office earlier, she was looking at me with wide eyes, I gave her a small smile and she started walking towards me holding a clipboard between her hands.

"Hi," I smiled once she was close enough to hear me, she looked frightened, "I'm Alex,"

"Rachel," she gave me a weak smile without looking me in the eye, "I- is he getting fired?" She asked playing anxiously with the clipboard she was holding.
