Haza'dur watches the munce and geckles work and slave away in the mines in glee as Kai is sat on a throne positioned lazily as if this was a bore to him. It was anything, but though as the red ninja is desperately trying to resist the evil magic coursing through him.
"Why resist it puppet? You and I both know the truth. The truth that you are too weak to resist me and my power,"
Kai let's out a strained laugh. "If I'm so weak then why are you using my powers instead of your own?" He was replied with a painful shock going through him. He couldn't keep the blood curdling scream from coming out causing everyone, even the skeletons and skeleton dragon, to pause and look at him from his spot on the throne. When it died down Kai took a deep ragged breath.
"Shocking me proves my point don't you think?" Kai asks. He screams again much louder as the pain overwhelms him, but Haza'dur does not let him fall into a unconscious state from the pain. "You will do as I say you insolent brat or else those children of yours aren't gonna live to their first birthday," Haza'dur threatens. "I'd like to see you try to touch them," Kai taunts. He screams again.
Haza'dur looks back at his slaves and if he had eyebrows they would be furrowed in confusion. "Where are my skeletons?"
Meanwhile, Cole and Lloyd had snuck into the Haza'dur's palace and Kai's screams of pain from outside bounced off the walls surrounding them. The black ninja covers his ears and Lloyd twitches his fingers wanting to do the same, but knows he needs to be ready to grab his weapon if there were any skeletons in here. There weren't any last time, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
"Lloyd how are we going to get that skull away without hurting Kai?" Cole asks. "I don't know, but we both know Kai's gonna fight tooth and nail to get that skull off him even if he doesn't have the chance," Lloyd assures and that does make Cole feel better.
They heard footsteps approaching accompanied by the now familiar rattling of skeleton bones. Lloyd made a silent motion to hide and Cole did so with ease.
Two skeletons walked by each holding a black and white blade made from Ivory. The second the skeletons were above the ninja they dropped down crushing the two before they could do anything to stop it.
Cole grabs the blades expecting to feel some sort of power rush only to feel nothing, but a familiar sense of warmth. The earth ninja couldn't help, but sniff them and he smelt the faintest scent of his mother's perfume.
He then heard Kai screaming in pain again snapping him out of it and reminding him he's got to save him and bury that stupid green skull under at least ten mountains.
He puts the swords on his back and turns to Lloyd. "Let's go show this bone head not to mess with a ninja," Lloyd smiles wide holding up his katana with a clear message. "Let's do this," he said.
Back outside the skull palace Haza'dur watched the munce and geckles suspiciously. Something was up and he knew it. His slaves were working with some type of new energy that was not induced by fear, and he knew fear induced energy. No, this was something else something like hope.
The skull turned his head and his glowing green eyes widened seeing a man covered in moss move from boulder to boulder releasing his slaves.
"STOP THEM!"
Haza'dur yells at the top of his nonexistent lungs having Kai stand up from the throne. The ninja appeared from behind boulders and all the munce and geckles shed their unlocked chains charging.
"What! Kill them all! Release Greif bringer!" The green skull orders. The skeleton by the dragons cage nodded opening it, but then the guards from Shintaro came out of nowhere with their golden wings with Vania leading the charge. They stopped the cage from opening and took care of any skeleton from trying.
"I have to do everything myself!" Haza'dur summons green fire in Kai's palms about to attack when a figure jumps out from behind and stood in front of Haza'dur and his puppet carrying two twin blades. He points them at the skull and said.
"I'm warning you right now and this can end the easy way. Let my husband go now!" Cole orders fiercely. The skull laughs at him. "No," It got out in a raspy voice and blasted Cole. He deflected it with the blades and said. "Sorry Kai," before tackling him.
The force knocked them below and they hit a bridge that dropped thousands of feet under them. "Give me my husband back!" Cole demands the stone ground around him cracking. The skull laughs and floats in the air. Despite not being in direct contact Haza'dur had green tendrils still connected to Kai like a puppet which he kind of was.
Cole blinks back tears at the form of his lover which was darkened and evil. His skin was so pale and hair as black as charcoal with evil glowing green eyes. His entire complexion looked like a ghostly reflection with his armour being turn into something menacing like from a biker gang. Cole kind of admits the outfit was kind of hot in a bad boy villain type thing, but his entire complexion ruined it.
"Kai, fire-bird, I love you and I don't want to fight you please fight this," Cole pleads with his husband. His eyes twitches and his teeth grind together. "Your too stubborn to listen to me why start with a floating head?" Cole asks. Kai looks straight at him his eyes dimming. "Cole," he said before screaming in pain and falling to one knee.
"Kai!" Cole rushes forward only to be blasted back by green fire. Cole deflects the worst of it using his mother's blades, but still felt the heat. It wasn't full force though he knew when Kai used full force and he was holding back.
Once the blast stopped Cole stood and said. "I will defeat you Haza'dur and I won't hurt the love of my life doing it," Cole vows and the floating skull laughs. "I would like to see you try. Puppet? ATTACK!"
Kai blasts his green fire again and Cole blasts earth at him the two locked in a fierce stale mate as battle raged around them. Still Cole had his mother's blades and he is never letting another loved one die on his watch.
