Armando’s Mercedes-Benz wagon came to an abrupt stop outside of Sophia’s family estate. “Hurry up,” he called after me as I exited and made way past the gates, through the lawn, and past the front door. My aunt was in the living room talking to one of the maids and smiled in my direction when she saw me.
“Honey, Sophia should be down in a minute.” She said. “I actually have a meeting in a couple hours and I need to prepare some documents. Feel free to wait, okay?” She gave me another gentle smile and retracted towards the hallway which I knew would lead back into her study.
My aunt Emilia was one crazy bitch when it came to her work. She was a mean lawyer, one of the few women in our family that had an actual Ivy League education. She had gone to Harvard University. It had always been astonishing to me that the men in her life had actually allowed it. Though what was even more surprising was the fact that she was my father’s head lawyer. She was fucking lethal on the law’s side.
Everyone knew my father had a soft spot for my aunt Emilia. Not unlike my own relationship with Armando in which he basically was my bitch— just kidding. It was doubtful my brother would ever take any sort of business advice from little-old-me. And yes, I was still pissed off about finding out that in a matter of just a few days he’d be leaving back to Los-Angeles to finish setting up the newest edition of CULTURE RESORTS.
The concert started at 7 but we had back-stage passes to meet with Drake and get once-in-a-lifetime pictures before the show started. So we had to hurry. I barged into Sophia’s room like she’d done to me a million times before. She was standing in front of her mirror applying a shade of red lipstick to her beautiful plump lips.
“You’re taking too long,” I started, but when I noticed her outfit finished with, “Wow, you look hot!” Her hair was a darker blonde now in days since she was constantly adding lowlights. Her bob had grown out to shoulder length and she had added some layers that framed her face. Sophia normally had it straightened but tonight she was rocking loose beachy curls to rock her close-fitted lace up hot low V-neck dress in the color of black.
I smirked to myself, silently loving the fact that our outfits were color-coordinating. Our pictures would look amazing tonight. Not going to lie, recently my style was inspired by her incredible sense of fashion. I could never get enough of how beautiful and lucky she was to get all the good looks. She was beautiful, elegant, and sophisticated— all of these things and more.
And by the looks of it, tonight, she was ready to party. “Me? Bella look at you! You don’t even look like a teenager. You’re jailbait tonight.” She gave me a look-over from the mirror and popped her lips, blending her red lipstick beautifully as her eyes twinkled with delight.
