"so now that that's over, i did something," announced zane as he hopped onto the table and clapped his hands with a kind of nervous, excited smile.
they had contacted yui first, and after that she had taken care of everything. the chip was taken by the police, and they had instructed the boys to contact them if bethany visited again.
akira had come home right as the authorities were leaving, and was a little sulky that he had missed out on all the action. nevertheless, he was relieved that elliott was okay and would probably get a restraining order against bethany if she showed up at their house again.
back to the current situation, jae raised an eyebrow at what zane had just said an repeated, "you did something."
"i did something," nodded zane, a somewhat proud look in his eyes.
"so what did you do?" asked akira as he leaned forward from where he was seated beside elliott on the couch, elbows resting on his knees. he grabbed a popcorn kernel off the bowl, popped it into his mouth, and fell back against the cushions.
"i renewed my contract with riot."
akira began to choke and elliott gently slapped his back to help him recover from the unexpected attack of coughs when the popcorn went down the wrong tract.
"dammit!" cursed akira and zane quirked his head in confusion. "i wanted to tell everyone first!"
"you too?" asked jae incredulously before shifting his gaze to elliott. "did you also . . . ?"
"no," laughed elliott, suddenly feeling a load of weight lift off of his shoulders. he had been stressing out over disbanding for way over half a year at that point, so now that his major problem was solved, his first reaction was to begin giggling like an extremely happy schoolgirl. "but i will now!"
