2130

It is now 2130 several years since Kara finally gave in and agreed with Lena from the past that she won't continue to try and kill herself. This doesn't mean that Kara hasn't been sad and had some bad days, weeks and months, over the last several years, she has. Kara misses her wife every day. It has made Kara understand why so many married couples die within a few days or weeks of each other. Broken heart syndrome is a real thing, Kara can feel it, but it has never taken her away like other widows or widowers.

Over the last several years Kara has been trying to placate her grief by spending as much time with her family as possible. Kara has spent a lot of time with Keiran at L-Corp, not really doing anything, just happy to sit in her daughter's presence. Keiran's presence really comforts Kara more than her other children, as awful as that is to think. But, Kara thinks that it is only the case because, out of her three children, Keiran is the one that both looks and acts like Lena the most. While of course it does hurt Kara whenever she notices some quirk or look Keiran has that is almost identical to Lena, at the same time it offers some form of weird comfort.

Kara has also spent the last several years trying to spend time with both Lori and Oliver as well. In regards to Oliver, Kara has spent a lot of time with him at the DEO, just watching on and being proud of him as he now works alongside his adult daughter, Alex. Kara does find it very very weird because her granddaughter who is named after her sister, really reminds her of Alex. Kara's granddaughter has a tough exterior, but is soft on the inside, but at the same time she could easily beat up any man or woman, despite not having any powers. Kara thinks it's very strange and weird because it's not like her granddaughter is even related to Alex, or even got the chance to meet her, yet they are so similar. Kara really takes solace in that, and it helps that her granddaughter has always asked for Kara to tell her stories about her namesake. Kara is of course happy to share those stories, allowing herself to live in the happiness of those memories, even if afterwards it does make her cry from the longing of missing her sister.

As for Lori, she has been really busy over the last several years, both with CatCo and with Supergirl duties. Kara for her part has not put the cape back on again, she does however use her powers frequently, but not for any super heroing, or anything of that nature. Kara mostly uses her powers to escape from the world and her troubles, sometimes floating to the top of the world to just look on at the planet below, calming her. Then other times Kara just flies to remote parts of the planet to take in the serenity of it all. Lori has joined Kara on a lot of these occasions, happy to use the time with her mother to relax from her crazy life too. Lori is all too aware of how much her mother is hurting, she can't really even fathom it. Of course Lori misses her ma', but she knows it's different for Kara. Kara had a much longer and loving, in a different way, relationship with Lena than Lori. Lori can only really relate with her mother when she thinks of how she would feel if she lost her wife, Melissa. Lori knows that if her wife died, she'd be heartbroken and so lost, so she can only imagine how Kara truly feels.

Over the last several years, outside of spending time with her children, Kara has been doing a lot of writing. Kara hasn't been writing articles however, that part of her life is over, and she has no intentions to go back, despite Lori's encouragement. Kara has actually just been spending the last several years writing biography books about all of her friends and family. Kara finds the whole process very therapeutic as it is a way that helps her deal with her grief, even if it doesn't make it go away. Kara can just gain some happiness as she types away, remembering all the stories about her loved ones. At the same time, the process helps Kara feel better because it allows her to know that her friends and family's contributions to the world won't be forgotten, as everything that they did will be written down in Kara's books, including some things that people do not already know or have knowledge of. The first person Kara decided to write a book about was Kal-El, as she decided that people would eagerly buy a book about Superman. Kara of course wasn't interested in the sales; she was just interested in more people learning about Kryptonian culture through Clark's story.
