The 50's style diner was packed with all different types of people on the cold March afternoon. There were senior citizens, younger teenagers hanging out, people on dates, and plenty of families scattered about. Olivia sat on a stool at the counter with her two sisters sitting on either side of her.
When they first moved to their current neighborhood, Daphne would get cravings for milkshakes all the time so this location had become their go-to milkshake spot every Saturday afternoon. Occasionally they would drag Luke along with them if he had slept over the night before, but this time it was just the three sisters.
"You want to explain to us why Luke has been over every single day for breakfast in the past week and won't stop giving you the goo-goo eyes every morning?" Daphne asks while bringing the straw to her mouth and sipping the thick strawberry milkshake.
"Yeah, and the past few days it's been apparent that you have been returning the looks as well. There is most definitely something going on there." Crystal agreed with the sister, adding more evidence about the chemistry between the two best friends.
It was true, Luke had gotten up early every single day before school and on the weekends to have breakfast with either the three sisters or just Olivia. While they were eating, he wasn't able to take his eyes off of Olivia and the older sisters were always there to catch it. And then the past three days Olivia would catch his glances and turn into a blushing mess.
"I don't know what it is. It's all so confusing. Like, I know we've been friends for the past 5, almost 6 years, but something between us just kinda...clicked after the whole Bobby thing. I feel like we can't keep our eyes off of each other and it's so hard to not be around him. And it's been almost 2 weeks, by the way." Olivia giggles while talking about the boy who has been filling her every waking thought.
"Excuse me, wait. The whole Bobby thing? When did that happen? I feel like I've been left out of a few important conversations." Daphne expresses looking between the two sisters dramatically.
"You've really got to catch up sis. Okay, quick recap. Luke made out with McMannor at the Valentine's Day party. Liv got jealous and kissed Bobby. She and Bobby had a fling for a few days before he bragged to Luke and Luke got pissed. Bobby said that he was just trying to get in Liv's pants and she punched him. After that Liv and Luke had a moment. This is old drama that is long gone. Also, the reason you were left out was that you were constantly too busy making out with your boyfriend." Crystal quickly goes through the story before looking back at her younger sister. "So has anything happened between you and Luke since then?" She grabs the youngest sister's hand and asks excitedly. Olivia couldn't seem to wipe the smile off her face while thinking of the boy that she had been friends with for so long.
"We almost kissed." Her face is quickly covered with a blush as she smiles widely while picturing the moment from the garage that ended too soon.
Daphne and Crystal both go wide-eyed at the simple sentence that came out of Olivia's mouth so effortlessly. They were both expecting it to come at some point, but it still was a major surprise to them.
