I was startled awake by a slight movement underneath me. "Sorry babe," whispered Aston.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asked.
"Maybe an hour," said Aston shifting again.
"You didn't sleep did you?" I asked him warily.
"Nah, just laid here and enjoyed the beautiful weather and the beautiful girl in my arms."
"You're too cute," I smiled, leaning up and pecking his lips lightly. "But you could have woken me up you know. Must have been a bit boring just laying here."
"No, it was perfect. Now what do you say we get up and go get changed, maybe have a drink here and then wander down the beach and find somewhere for a nice meal?"
I looked around the beach and noticed most people had packed it in for the day. The sun was starting to get lower in the sky and less intense.
"Sure, let's go," I said untangling myself from Aston and standing up. I threw all of my things in my beach bag and then rolled up the towel that I'd laid out in the sand. Grabbing Aston's hand I followed him back to the bed and breakfast and to our room.
"I'm just going to rinse off quick and then you can have the bathroom," said Aston.
"Sure," I said sitting down on the bed and pulling out my phone. Glancing at it I saw a text from Jen.
[Hey Lady. Wanna grab a drink before your gig tonight?]
Frowning slightly I texted her back, [Sorry can't. I'm actually not gigging tonight.]
Jen responded quite promptly, [What? I thought you were playing that big club?]
[I was supposed to. But Ast took me away for the weekend instead.]
Oh shit, I thought. I never told Jen about Aston and I dating. The next text could be super awkward. And it was... [Um excuse me?!? What are you not telling me?]
[Long story, Aston and I are sort of dating now. I've gotta run, but we'll have coffee and discuss soon.]
I slipped my phone in my bag after that, I'd heard the shower turn off and I busied myself gathering what I was going to wear that evening.
"All yours babe," said Aston coming out a few minutes later. He had a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair was dripping water down his chest. "What?" he asked as I stood there in a slight trance, my bag dangling in my hand.
"Nothing," I said giving him a cheeky smile as I shocked myself back to life and strode into the bathroom.
"I know you were checking me out!" he shouted after me.
"In your dreams babe," I replied.
Quickly I rinsed off and then washed the salty water out of my hair. After I popped out of the shower I wrapped a towel around my head and slipped my underwear on. I brushed out my hair a bit and then blow dried it, letting it stay long and slightly wild instead of pulling it back. Trying to go for a bit of a beachy look. I slipped on my flowery summer dress and then did a bit of simple makeup before putting everything away.
"Ready babe?" asked Aston as I emerged from the bathroom. He was sat on the bed with a checked shirt and dark jeans on, fiddling with his phone.
"Yup, let me just grab my bag," I said. Quickly I threw a few things into my purse and then stood by the door waiting for Aston.
We started out with glasses of cold white wine at the terrace of the bed and breakfast. The sun was low in the sky and they'd switched the fairy lights on. The glow from the lights left a very relaxing ambiance, and the noise of the waves on the ocean only made it better. I sat across from Aston as I sipped my wine, and laid my leg out across his thigh, his hand resting gently right above my ankle. It was blissful.
After our drink we walked down the steps to the beach and walked hand in hand towards town, looking for a place to eat. We found a sweet little restaurant tucked into the trees, with its own outdoor terrace area. We got a table and sat out their for ages, enjoying a nice meal and a bottle of champagne.
As the meal progressed Aston went from sitting across the table from me to sitting right next to me, his arm draped over the back of my chair. By the time we'd gotten to pudding I couldn't tell which plate was his and which plate was mine, we'd been nicking food off each others plates so much.
"Now then, where to next?" asked Aston as he paid for our meal (much to my annoyance) and grabbed my hand, dragging me down to the beach.
"How about we wander around a bit, then have a nice cozy night in our room? Can get a bottle of wine or something and relax?"
"Sounds perfect babe."
We walked down the beach a bit, chatting away, our arms wrapped around each other. When we got back to where we were staying we noticed a hammock set up to the side of the building. I claimed the hammock for the pair of us while Aston jogged up to reception to get a bottle of red wine and some plastic cups. When he returned, we laid out in the hammock under the stars and enjoyed our drink.
This was the most perfect moment in our entire, short time that we'd been in a relationship. We were so comfortable together and I couldn't imagine being there with any one else. I wasn't thinking of the future, and how we both had big goals we were trying to achieve, I was only thinking in that perfect moment.
After we finished the bottle, we dragged ourselves out of the hammock and went up to our room where we ended up making love to each other with the light of the moon shining into our gorgeous picture windows. The perfect way to top off the most intimate evening of my life.
